Panniers for Bandit 1250
Does anyone have panniers fitted to their Bandit 1250? Do you have to re-locate the indicators? Anyone got pics?

Re: Panniers for Bandit 1250
I have the Hepco & Becker set.
The topbox gives me the shits! the weight limit is too small for my requirements & therefore I keep snapping bolts.
After seeing Baz's Givi setup at the weekend - look closer at them!
the bike has changed a lot since these shots were taken....

i'm normally behind the camera, but it's other peoples bikes in front of it!
since then, which was taken a couple of weeks after getting the Bandit, the exhaust has changed to the R77, the screen has gone DB & tinted. Changed from Ozzy Knobs to Oggy Knobs (much, much better!), & the seat has changed to a Suzuki Gel seat. I think that's all (visible anyway!)

I have a full set of givis on mine. A 45 topbox and 32s or 35s on the side. I had the lot overloaded for a 6000k trip in atrocious weather and they didn't fail me once. Totally waterproof, I am very happy I purchased them. I Have an R77 pipe and that clears them by miles. I'll take some pics tonight and post them.

Thx mate, did u have to move the blinkers? If so what do u mount them to and how do u rewire them? Can u access the seat lock wothout removing a pannier?

Re: Panniers for Bandit 1250
you do have to move the indicators. H&B have a bracket which these attach to.
yes, I need to remove the pannier to get under the seat - can't comment about the Givi.

Re: Panniers for Bandit 1250
Yes, the indicators are moved. Givi provides a very strong bracket for this. No rewiring needed. You do have to remove the left side to gain access to the seat lock however they are quick release, so I have never found it to be a problem.

Re: Panniers for Bandit 1250
Get smaller aftermarket indicators and they fit in the stock places no problems. The relocation bracket looks shit and shakes like someone with advanced Parkinsons.
I will take some photos later if you like, I have stock indicators somewhere that I can stick on the bracket to show you what I mean.

Re: Panniers for Bandit 1250
I've thought about panniers and top box for the B12. But I'm yet to find any that I actually like the look of, oh except for the Corbin 'Beetle Bags', but I don't even want to think how much they'll cost.

Re: Panniers for Bandit 1250
Reardo, I knew that was coming.
Oh and Mick I priced the beetle bags about a year ago, I think without postage was about 1700.
My Corbin seat looks awful, is IMO poorly made, WAAY to pricey, but very comfortable and does it's job well. Maybe the bags are the same.

Re: Panniers for Bandit 1250
I fitted Givi 21lt. monokey panniers to my 1250 and found them to be very good, small enough to not get in the way when the 'better half' is getting on or off the bike but still big enough to carry enough gear for a long weekend away. I have a Givi pannier frame on my 1999 1200 Bandit also so I can easily swap the panniers between the 2 bikes. Cost of frame and panniers is around $540 but I feel they are value for money. I am not smart enough to be able to add the photo of the bikes I have to this reply......... sorry. The blinkers need to be relocated onto the the mounting points that are incorperated on the pannier frames, but I would advise that you extend the cabling, I found this the be easy to do and made for a better fit.

Re: Panniers for Bandit 1250
Mate, if i can manage to post a photo anyone can ,and we need a photo.
Photobucket is your friend .If you need help ,like i did ,feel free to PM me and we will sort it out.
If we stuff it up, no big deal, we will get it in the end and everybody wants a photo.
Saikhan ,i'm surprised that's a Corbin seat. I had one on my 1200 and it looked way different to that .I know you have a 1250 but
i would not have picked it .Did you get it new?

LOL, it's for a trip around OZ. I'm camping where I can, so there's a tent, sleeping bag, mat, stove, pots/pans, utensils, etc in there as well!
...and I'll be away a heck of a lot longer than 3 days! ;-)

I thought it was 4 days i.e. forwards, backwards then inside out: forwards, backwards.

That explains it, I often wonder, as I had plenty stuff for a 10 day trip in 1 rack-bag including chain lube and visor cleaner, admittedly I did wash stuff during a rest day (sixth day) but I didn't recycle any underwear.

At first I managed everything in a tank bag and E370 top box. Now I have to use a maxia E55 top box and V35 panniers just because of the missus. I get one V35 for my stuff the rest is hers?????
