Woolich Racing Tuned Software - Page 2 Empty Woolich Racing Tuned Software

First topic message reminder :

After alot of research I decided to go with Woolich Racing for tuning the Bandit, so much more adjustability than the piggy back systems (Dynojet PCV and Holeshot), iap and TPS fuel maps, ignition maps, Secondary throttle position and Auto tune.

1. You said a TRE removes the timing retard restriction on gears 1 to 4, I fail to see how this is so when the ignition tables are grouped gears 1 to 3 and then 4 to 6 (see tables I posted up earlier). Sounds like you believed some advertising on a product, you can't compare plugging in a resistor to lock the bike into a one map suits all scenario when you can tune on a Dyno using Woolich Racing to map all gears at different throttle positions,RPM and load to maximize torque through ignition advance and AFR

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GsTkyZW05GM
This is in the software.

2.  You said       " He is currently working with Chris giving him info after Chris programs the ECU. A longer process as it will take ~ 3 up and backs sending the ECU to dial the info correctly. You will be able to purchase the program from Chris that is dialed to Dale’s specs using information to modify your airbox along with a specific full exhaust setup that user would need to purchase elsewhere than Dale"
So your saying that its still okay to flash an ECU because it wont get him in trouble, and unless Chris has run a Z900RS with the same mods on his Dyno I don't know how he is going to get the best advance curves in his ignition tables for that bike.
Per the youtube video I still don't understand why he doesn't do it himself when he has a Dyno

You are not in the U.S. and obviously not aware of the EPA laws the government are enforcing and their heavy monetary fines. Please take a moment to read the links below to understand why Dale is not selling performance parts.

Of course dyno tuning a particular bike will net more accurate results. But removing the secondary throttle blades is a must for quicker and more accurate throttle response as the servo is slow to respond. Leaving the blades in mean adjusting the secondary throttle blades tables at each and every point and in each 6 gears which is unnecessary work if removed. Using a TRE, makes tuning easy as gears 1-4 then use gear 5 timing map which is unrestricted. This also makes tuning easy as mapping  timing in gears 1-4 are unnecessary with a TRE. Just need to dyno in gear 5 for similar tuning in lower gears.

We can debate which way is best but each to their own. Sure spending lots of money and getting the best software to tune exact is desirable. But simple proven inexpensive items that net great results is also desirable. Remember, Dale has over 223 dyno runs on a Bandit 1250 perfecting his tune with his SuperTuner (aka Dobeck EJK). By the way Mark Dobeck originally owned Dynojet. Remember, the tune is only as good as the person’s knowledge and experience programing the ECU. https://www.roadracingworld.com/news/dynojet-founder-and-former-owner-dobeck-to-re-enter-motorcycle-business/

AFR should be be different depending upon load. Having a set AFR can be beneficial in one area while not ideal in another. Below is what experienced Dobeck performance recommends.

Idle/light cruise 13.5 afr
Cruising 14.0 afr
Wide open throttle 12.5 afr
Acceleration 12.0 afr

Dobeck controllers offer a better fuel solution for every driving condition and within every gear by basing fuel addition on engine load. Woolich racing offers throttle position and RPM technology mapping for each gear but load. Woolich racing map won’t change depending upon load if going uphill or downhill, having a 150 lb rider or 225 lb rider. What you program for each gear at each rpm at each throttle position is it. You can adjust many items such as timing, STC, PAIR valve off, O2 Lambda off, rev limiter which is nice though.

I think there's a clue on the Holeshot website as to why Dale is not doing his own dyno work, or using more up to date methods of tuning:

Please note: After nearly 40 years I'm going to semi retire and will only be available for tech calls a couple days a week...most likely Monday & Tuesday. I will be 63 this year, and need to have some fun while I can still do it, and before I drop dead one day.

Anyway, I thought this post was about the Woolich hardware / software...
