LED indicators Empty LED indicators

Post  Mac Fri 29 Jul 2022, 9:19 pm

Hi,

Probably been asked numerous times however I’m new to the forum.
I have a 2008 1250 Bandit and replaced the original indicators with LED which have transistors in built. I have fitted them however they all work well until I wire the clocks back up. Once I do this the indicators present like there’s limited current. Has anyone ever encountered this problem ???
Cheers

Mac

Hi,
Think you mean resistors. Resistors can be used to increase the load of a device or they can be used to drop the voltage applied to the device
Limited current - you mean they are not very bright, glow softly ?. Low voltage- usually a result of high resistance.
Total load may be dropping voltage too much
May not have needed the built in Resistor type.
If you have a multi meter, disconnect all blinkers, connect clocks, turn on blinkers & check voltage at blinker connections. If good, ie 12v that's good. Connect 1 & check voltage, 2 redo 3 redo. If voltage drops off as you connect more, resistance is increasing, dropping voltage.
