New to me 2007 1250
Hi all
New member from Pakenham Victoria, picked up my first Bandit a couple of weeks ago
2007 1250s ABS - 18,000 Km
Came with a micron slip on, grabbed myself a secondhand yoshi can & link pipe for $200
Oggy knobs front crash bar, Givi top case and side cases
Been riding dirt bikes for 19 years. In the last 8 years my mates got me into road bikes.
Just sold my 2005 GSX-R 750 in favour of the bandit

Re: New to me 2007 1250
Nice bike! Looks really clean.
Did you pick up the Yoshi from Sunbury? If so, you beat me to it! You also saved me from spending money on something I didn't need, but still... Nice can.
I'm not too far from you, hope you're enjoying this sunny Sunday on the bike
Edit - I'm fucking miles from you, I totally forgot where Pakenham is

Welcome.
This may be a silly question but that's not an oil leak under the bike in the photos is it or have you just stopped in the wrong place? Ha, Ha.

Nah coolant, topped it off before the ride and it spewed a little out when I stopped. Spat a bit more on the garage floor just to annoy me when I got home tookelpie wrote:This may be a silly question but that's not an oil leak under the bike in the photos is it or have you just stopped in the wrong place? Phew! Bandits are pretty leak free from anywhere.
I'm not far up the road from you at Jindivick if you know where that is.

Re: New to me 2007 1250
Welcome BD,
Same year model as mine.
I'd be doing two things for your coolant spill, both mentioned in the archives on here if you use the search on the top right.
First, get a new radiator cap, and 2nd re-route your coolant overflow piping so that it does NOT bypass the overflow bottle.
Happy riding,
Barry

Very nice, Doc! I've got the same vintage 1250 S, but without ABS. You'll see a lot of my posts under RIDE REPORTS. Hope you enjoy yours as much as I'm enjoying mine!

Re: New to me 2007 1250
Thanks all for the warm welcome!
Unfortunately I managed a back injury just after my last post. Bad enough to keep me off the bike but still at work to keep the lights on.
Last time I went out it seemed to have a bit of a dead spot around 4k RPM 3rd gear. Looking into it they seem to have problems with the fuel pump blocking up.
Pulled the pump and swapped it for a Quantum pump with regulator and gave the mesh screen a good scrub with a bit of cable (seen on TWTex)
Haven't been out since the pump change but feeling better and I'm getting keen with the nicer weather
While on the mend I got some bits for the bandit that won't fit themself.
Planning on changing to NGK iridium plugs (CR7EIX)
Nabbed a secondhand Power Commander 3 for $260
Got a O2 eliminator on its way and a Healtec pair system eliminator too

Re: New to me 2007 1250
Sorry to hear about your back, mine likes to play tricks as well. No grunt about 4k rpm, yep sounds like the screen. Mine did that too till I did Gus's fuel fix 2 years ago.
