The gasket kept cutting corners so glued her down in a few spots. Didn't want to stand there for too long so came up with this huckery concoction. Put some new Nippon Denso IX24 plugs in. Clearance on valves were spot on but had to have peace of mind. Will check Carb balance next and hopefully take her for a run.

Is that a two pronged question? Glue is Permatex Ultra Black. Weights are 4lb hammer and right angle welding magnet.
Out of Curiosity how many times can one re use these gaskets, care and diligence being used?

Re: !200 Tappet Cover Gasket.
We just changed my sons at around 50,000 km on a road going bike which would have tappets checked every 12,000 km . The Gasket was still ok and not leaking, but one of the large ones under the bolts on the top of the cover was starting to weep , so he replaced those , the cover gasket , and the ones that seal the plug holes at the same time to save any problems .

Thanks Paul, I replaced the plug hole gaskets too and the bolt hole ones I'm re using so may glue them to be sure. Bit of a mongrel getting them off next time tho'. Arrggghhhh well, perseverance.

Thanks bigbore, used to Gasket Goo but can't find here. Am getting my 91 gsx1100g up & running, had cover off to lube the top before turning by hand -was thinking same question . Just used a light coat of moly grease -may need to do head gasket as has oil leak, need to check drain tubes etc. Looks like PO used a stainless head gasket with silastic .
Thanks.
Thanks.
