Luggage options / panniers / bags and stuff

Whilst looking for luggage ideas I found this site.

Andys been doing it for a while now...............good stuff apparently & it looks like he has certainly expanded his range .

Have used both soft and hard on various bikes.
Am a hard bag convert now.
Have a 45L Givi top box and am considering a set of Givi monokey E22's.
Don't need the bigger E35's and the E22 are slimmer and more compact.

My bike came with 35s, they are a pain in the arse. Just too big. Ive changed to 22s and no longer bother with the top box. Weight is lower so the bike handles better and you dont have to go behind the bike to get to things. 

Im currently modding the mounting brackets to get the cases lower for more win.

I love my Givi luggage, only regret is not getting the 45l top box
I wouldn't be without my 45l panniers on a long trip but are too bulky for daily commuting, if I had the bigger top box I wouldn't have to use the panniers occasionally in the city

I've got Givi V35 panniers and V47 Top box.
Top box rarely gets removed. Panniers only for long trips. I don't find them too big.

Recently I used the inner bags for carry on luggage on a flight. Perfect size for a 4 day trip

I filter a lot commuting. They were too wide. 

For weekend use they are fine, I just stand on the peg to get on as I have short legs.

Yes no filtering with the panniers on. They're not on very often though

Yes no filtering with the panniers on. They're not on very often though

I had them on a couple of weeks ago and got quite excited when there was room to filter still

If u want room for storage heres a quick way to get alot of storage on a bike lol

Mine came with 41's on each side and a Givi 39L top box.  The top box was too small so I swapped it for a 46 which is on permanently and fits my helmet, wet weather pants, gloves and stuff.  I only ever use the panniers when I park the bike at the airport for work trips.  I ride there with them empty then my helmet and jacket goes in one, and boots and pants in the other and they stay locked up on the bike. 

The 41's are just too big to have on for commuting and they sit too high.  not long ago I filtered up the gap to the front at a set of lights and heard 'click, click' and realised I had clipped the bottom of two car mirrors with the tops of the panniers.  never even considered that would be possible

Has anyone had a look at the Kappa range, it appears to be Givi's budget brand and fits on their racks.

I had Givi E41 side cases, awesome capacity but rather wide.  V46 top case - great unit so handy to keep my crap in when parked up in the city. They were over 7 years old when I moved them on but were pretty much like the day I brought them.......... good solid gear!

I have just recently gone over to the Givi Trekker Dolomiti range - side & top box are great but not Bandit material - very Esky looking (or Chilli-Bin for the Kiwis).  You can't go too wrong with Givi gear.
I get gear via Motostorm.it  good to deal with & the freights not too expensive!
