Bandit GSF600S 1995
Price: $2,000
Location: Bondi Beach, Sydney, NSW, 2026
Registered Until: September 2016
Please no trades - I'm looking for a straight sale only. I've knocked the price down for a quick sale.
I bought this bike about two months ago to learn on only to realise that it's not a Learner Approved Motorcycle - so now looking to sell it and get a smaller one. The previous owner had it for a long time but hardly rode it due to having back issues so the mileage is still very low for a bike if its age. He informed me that he'd recently replaced the battery, back tyre and seat.
Since owning the bike I've had the following done in garage:
Replaced the front tyre
Replaced the front wheel bearings
Replaced the left/front break pads
Had the chain adjusted
Replaced the spark plugs
Drained the carburetors
Adjusted the mixtures
Purchased a chain guard
Had it pink slipped as of 20/06/2016

Re: Bandit GSF600S 1995
What do they check for in a NSW pink slip?
Is it just a quick kick of the tyres and a look at the lights?
......or does that depend on the knowledge of the mechanic doing it?
......or how well the mechanic knows the owner?
9 days ago it passed a pink slip, in the photo you don't have a chain guard, that's not even ADR requirements, basic Vehicle Standards requirements for all bikes (including those pre ADR build) is the chain must be guarded at least 300 mm behind the rear most foot peg, your's doesn't comply for either front or rear pegs.
I've seen light trucks land in SA with a current Pink Slip only days or weeks old and basic things like Seat Belts, Reflectors etc haven't been fitted for years

Sorry the photos were taken prior to pink slip - I have purchased a chain guard for it since then.
Pink slip and all work was carried out by Lloyd Penn Motorcycles.

There's a guy near me selling a Ducati Monster 659 ABS that's learner approved I'm going to pick up this weekend - so my Bandit will be sitting in a garage until sold (since I'm not legally permitted to ride it).
Basically I bought the bandit right after getting my L's without taking it to a garage - trusting the seller who told me it was perfect and learner approved. I took it to a garage (Lloyd Penn) to see if it needed a service as I had no info on it. They told me it needed a bunch of things done to it - all the things I've listed above - but that it also wasn't learner approved. I paid to have all the servicing done so I'm not doing to the next person what the previous seller did to me. Now that it's all good I've reduced the price I paid ($3K to $2K) for a quick sale and left it in a garage until sold. I've already contacted another seller (Ducati guy) as he's close to me and to a garage where I can get it checked out before making the purchase (not making the same mistake again).
