Spamming PM's

Is anybody else getting spam in their PM'S or is it an admin cross I have to carry? Grrrrrr in any case.

Nothing here, get them occasionally on a site I'm admin on though so that could be it

No not me , but a lot of members on ASB have been getting them . The spammers hack into unused members accounts & gain access to pms that way .

Getting spam from "Guest".

I just logged out to try and send you a message as Guest, as soon as I clicked on "PM" on your profile it took me straight to a login screen and I couldn't create a message without logging in

The ones on ASB come through as an unused users name..............maybe they have found a way to alter that to guest .There is no guest in the members list , can you block guest in your inbox through the foes function somehow ?

If it's like the forum I'm admin and the other I'm a mod, every person browsing that isn't logged in is "Guest"

It's the same here , if you click on the who's on line tab just under the today's active topics tab ,it shows all the " guests" looking at the site & what they are looking at..................you just can't send pms as a guest ( I tried as well ).

Paul, I'll bet there are many people that are happy you can't send pms, whether you are a guest or member!

this is the one doing the rounds on ASB

Well , I got a PM on the ASB site today from this mob ......... http://hotsale-cycling.net.tf .......by them hacking into an unused members account to gain access to the site . The part that really pissed me off , is that it is damn near impossible to abuse them anywhere on their site . It looks like you have to  open an account & log in & even then maybe not ! Even their live chat answers you like you have asked a totally different question   .I hope they run their business more honestly than the way they gain access to do their advertising .
