Re: GSF1250 vs XJR 1300
I still don't get the 1251cc bike being called a 1300, Suzuki must be one of the few that actually understate engine capacity in model naming
I love where the max torque is on the Bandit

Re: GSF1250 vs XJR 1300
Must admit , I quite like the xjr................did yours have the inherent tap tap from the motor ? (Something my Diversion 900 also had )
I find the peak torque at the lower revs quite handy on the bandit .

I'd be interested in what you thought were the plusses and minusses of the XJR Miker? I've never owned one.

I've never owned one either but know quite a few that have had at least one (one has worn 3 of them out) and they all loved them.
Bang for your $$$ I can't see the value ever being better than a Bandit but the Bandit is a bargain

^ If the Bandit had adjustable Ohlins fitted to it would it end up being the better bike?

Re: GSF1250 vs XJR 1300
some time ago when i had my suspension done, they reckon that the ohlins that comes standard on bikes generally isnt the same as the aftermarket, as they have different valves - so you still need to get it modified to be the same

I had a 2005 XJR1300 SP
Great bike
Had it dyno tuned 127 rear wheel hp
Didn't take much advance plate , FJ1200 inlet rubbers and modified exhaust and about $800 worth of tuning dyno time
(Spring wood Suzuki )
Great ballsy bike to ride but have to man handle into tight corners
Did a lot of klms in mine with no dramas
Only got rid of her to purchase a Harley

Re: GSF1250 vs XJR 1300
The xjr looked better...but my first big inline 4 was a 1250 bandit...flogged the xjr with the right mods.and with 300 hrs or so of metal polishing the bandit grew on me...now im on a carbed bandit...suzuki for me thanks!

Re: GSF1250 vs XJR 1300
Gday,MIKER.love this forum because of these type of coversations...my mate in adelaide had a customised gsx 1400...it looked wicked, and sounded mean.suzuki over the years have made some wild bikes.ever since i was 14 and my next door neighbour got a new naked katana i loved bikes.the only thing i remember in the day better was a mate of my dad had a z1R mk11...it was black and high quality polished everywhere...id like to see a 1250 engine rebuilt and highly polished...but thats alot if work for a relatively new bike...whereas the older model engines could be polished by a patient backyarder whilst still in the bike!

^^
I actually like all big bore muscle bikes, the Carby model early (2000) model XJR1300 is my favourite Muscle bike.

Re: GSF1250 vs XJR 1300
You have to go with what suits you best , & the xjr does look a lot more pillion friendly..............good luck with the forumMIKER wrote:paul wrote:Have you bought another one & started a forum MIKER ?
Yes Paul you are correct, i picked up another XJR1300. I got a good offer for my Bandit & sold it, my main reason for selling the Bandit was i do 95% two up riding & wanted a bike with a slightly longer wheel base e.g. XJR1300, GSX1400 sized bike. My Bandit experience has been a good one & i always will hold the Bandit in high regard, thanks for asking Paul.
