Wireless Microphones
Just sent through our work email system.
Not sure if bike comms use this frequency.
Changes to the use of wireless microphones – effective 1 January 2015
As of 1 January 2015, wireless audio transmitters – for example, wireless microphones, in-ear monitoring systems and PA system systems – that operate in the ‘700mhz’ frequency range are now illegal. Following government changes, the spectrum is now privately owned now by Telstra and Optus.
Any systems using frequencies between 694MHz and 820MHz will need to be replaced with a complying model immediately.
If you operate a wireless microphone, please check the manual to ensure your device is not affected. Note, wired microphones are not affected.
For further information please contact the Staff Service Centre or you can click on this link: www.acma.gov.au

Re: Wireless Microphones
Isn't that just typical, they just change the laws and expect us to fork out hundreds of dollars to replace equipment.
Well if my scala sets are I'll just keep using them

Re: Wireless Microphones
My microphone has wires that go to the bluetooth unit. So as far as I'm concerned they can kiss my asset.
Surely Telstra should have to pay to replace any equipment thay their purchase has now made illegal.
Pfft! Bureaucracy hey?!!!

"Hey Malcolm, I've got an idea, if we take something that isn't ours, flog it off, then make the Tax Payers buy new stuff so we can charge them GST, plus we get to fine anyone that still use the old kit, we'll have enough to fund our next Parliamentry Allowance pay rise. Plus we get the Tax Payers to buy us all brand new microphones, you know like Jana has."
"Don't be silly Tony, the Australian Public will not fall for that, but then again I did convinced them that copper was better than fibre. You never know, we could slip this in at Xmas and no one will notice, hmmm"

Re: Wireless Microphones
I was thinking we should be, the mic itself is wired to the unit, then everything is transferred by Bluetooth or plug in cablemadmax wrote:As it turns out it looks like we're ok with bluetooth

When I made my first comment I didn't know what frequency band Bluetooth used.

Yep this is the new Telstra 4x network. They've been chasing this spectrum for some time now after analog tv went digital. Telstra wouldve paid the gubment big dollars for it too. We'll all pay for it when you sign your next contract with telstra or optus.

Regular Australian 4G is still between 1800 and 2600 MHZ

This is a Government economic stimulation program, because TA has no idea how to replace all the manufacturing jobs he destroys every time the enters a free trade agreement on behalf of the dairy & mining sectors.
