Holden in NZ are running a competition where you can win a1969 Monaro ....fully restored .It turns out that where I work are supplying the trim kit to be fitted to it . I think they are running 9 promo ads for it and will be showing different stages of the resto. with them  Very Happy

I love to see the old classics being restored to their former glory.

Nice!  Not sure why they are rebuilding a 307 when a 350 was an option in these cars. As far as I was aware the HK had the 307 chev and the HT had the Australian built 308. Anyway it'd be cool to own that beast.

My old man has a HG premier in the shed and my younger brother a HK panelvan. Absolutely love the shape of these cars, the drum brakes and trimatic gearboxes are horrible though.

Maybe they are sticking with the 307 because that's what this car rolled off the line with

I think the answer is that although there were about twice as many GTS350 Monaros built as the Ford GTHO Phase 3, i.e 700 verses 300 Phase 3s, finding a true GTS350 would be almost impossible, where as the more common options of the 307, 253 and 308 would be a bit easier to locate.  The 327 was not offered in the HT only the HK.

Interesting to note that the chevy motors almost never made it to the Monaro as someone originally measured the engine bay wrong.  It was only when delays with the design of the aussie V8 that they rechecked the size and realised it would fit, what do they say, measure twice cut once Shocked

This is an early HT which used the " left over " 307 motors prior to later using the Aussie motor so it would be the orig. motor  .( the last of the HT models had an option for the 4.2 motor and the trimatic instead of the 2 speed powerglide ) This car also will now have sandlewood trim as per id tag & not the black trim currently fitted ( probably at some stage of its life ..................I noticed a few different paint colours when they blasted it as well , so doubt it will end up gold .

As the " muscle cars are becoming dearer & harder to get , a lot of people are now turning to the Broughams , Premiers & Kingwoods .................even the earlier EJ , EH are very popular ( as are FX, FJ & later models ).
For the last few years I have been mainly patterning up & making the repo covers building up that side of the business ..........( it keeps 4 of us flat out to try to keep up now ) but there has been a fair sort of outlay for setting it up/ door trim dies , patterns for seats etc , dielectric welding press manufacture of the door trims & reproduction materials etc (There are also ford , Chrysler  etc not just Holde  ...................The only depressing part of it is I'm old enough to have worked on them from since they were new ...................not the vintage& veteran  stuff ,................ just this stuff lol!

Yep , we can supply a kit , or if you need ,fit the covers & repair your seat ( springs etc )................maybe cheaper to get a trimmer to fit the kit over there than transport the seats to Adelaide .............I will PM you the details Monday .( All the embossed emblems etc will be done as per original )  http://www.winnerproducts.com.au/categories/HOLDEN-PREMIER/HG/

Cheers Paul. My old mans interior is that antique gold. The car has sat in the shed for the last 15 years, so it'd be great to see it restored and put back on the road.

Your stuff looks top notch btw. Dad had a set of brougham doors to go on it, but he ended up selling them a couple of years back for $200. I suppose old electric windows aren't really worth stuffing about with anyway.

Not sure Steve , but I wouldn't think it would be too far between them ( maybe a little dependant on how long the next part of the resto takes )
