Gong riders
Went for a local ride today. Ended up at Wollombi pub for a break.
A group pulled up containing a couple of Bandits.
Went and had a chat and it turned out that they were up from Wollongong. Racking up a fee big km rides in prep for Phillip Island ride.
I let them know about the forum and that there are a few members from the Gong.
One bike had a cracking crash bar setup. Will post pics when I get to my pc.

Yeah. When I got up and saw the weather this morning, I just had to kick Chris out of bed.
Sunday Riders had a ride on, so we got out amongst it.
I have been going a bit batty with the rain lately, so it was a real battery charger of a ride.
Plenty of Mr Plod around, as you say Pete.

Re: Gong riders
Thats some substantial bar work.
Looks like it would save a decent spill.

Re: Gong riders
I am a Gong rider aswell, but not sure who the guys are that you saw.
That bar work (Oggy Knobs) are the one's I have and I can certainly say they work. I dropped my bike on a hill and the bike fell on the downside of the hill and all that resulted was a few scratches on the Oggy Knob, the Oggy Bars and a scratched end cap with the clutch lever snapping off an inch. Not a single mark on the engine covers or rear fairings, it all rested on the bars and front/rear foot pegs.
As you say, that cost of under $300 paid for itself tht day with the amount of damage that it prevented.
The Oggy bars didn't warp out of shape one bit and i just painted over the scratches and it looks brand new!
The Gong is a bit of a Bandit playground as I regularly see around 10 different Bandits from time to time on all the local rides (Nasho Park, Coast road, Macquarie Pass, Kangaroo Valley, Southern Highlands.)
I like to give an extra acknowledgement to my Bandit brother with a head nod and a wave, see you all out there and look forward to seeing more down at the Island for the GP in October!
