USB Charger
Hi Guys,
I'm installing a USB charger on my bike, where is the best place close to the battery to pick up 12v on ignition only? Or any other suggestions.
Thanks,
Paul

I bought a fused double USB plug that fits into the C-Tek trickle charger plug.Paul 1250 wrote:Hi Guys,

Its cable tied under the seat and I run a flat USB cable out the front of the seat to my tank bag. I couldn't bring myself to drilling the fairing infill panel and having something there permanently.
I didn't need to for the number of times I need a live navi.

Re: USB Charger
After being on a ride yesterday and having the phone go dead flat after 15mins( bloody iphones) my phone gps was useless. I bought a generic USB charger from MCA's that's mounted to the handlebar, I just need power on ignition only

Re: USB Charger
I'm trying to find a headlight or other wire that's on ignition only, please remember I'm just a spraypainter
Everything is so tight and trying to find a wire in such a tight harness is difficult, I'm trying not to just hack into the harness.
I read in another post to look for an orange wire near the battery as a positive switching wire, I cant find that, my bike is a 2008 1250S if that helps

Re: USB Charger
I don't reckon you really need ign on for USB stuff.
You'll be taking the phone etc with you when off the bike and they shouldn't be drawing current when charged anyway. That's another reason I didn't hard wire mine.

Re: USB Charger
You will be looking for a Brown wire, it goes to both the Licence Plate lamp and the Combination Tail/Brake lamp.
