I'm currently looking for a second bike, anyone got a low km (~20,000km) ABS Bandit they're looking to sell and are based in NSW, interstate seems too painful.

Thanks.
Rob.

Hi Rob.  No.  But I wouldn't be too concerned about kms.  The 1250 Bandit is low on power but high on torque for a big in-line 4 cylinder.  As a result, they don't need to be revved to make progress, as the high torque simply pulls you out of corners and makes for easy 6th gear overtaking. The gearbox is also like it came from a Mack truck (well my 2010 1250s certainly is, even with 60,000kms on it). I doubt anyone will ever wear one of these Bandits out with normal use, even after 200,000kms.  I'd be more inclined to look at service history than low kms.

Guess I'm more thinking about suspension condition etc with the lower km examples. I do like the fact there is massive torque in these bikes, makes them perfect for the street IMO.  On the Diavel I tend to use the midrange more than the top end.

Big variance in prices asked from what I can gather, I'm not sure it's down to bike condition either.

This one is fairly close to me: Argh, can't post a link for the first 7 days.

It's on Bikesales, at Procycles hornsby, 37,000k, they're asking $6990:

"Well presented bike with alot of extras fitted.
If you are after a bullet proof bike with some mumbo, then this is it.
Scorpion pipe fitted, Suspension upgraded, top box fitted.
All original equipment comes with bike."

but I notice it's missing Bandit 1250S stickers, wonder if it's been repaired ...
I'm thinking by what most are asking it's probably worth about 6K, any thoughts ?

(There is an ABS one in townsville with 20K for $5K on gumtree)

Yeah, no decals, so something going on there (probably why it was traded) - I wouldn't touch it.  But it's up to you of course.  There are other lower km, lower price units on BikeSales that I'd look at before that one.

Hi Buford_t_justice. You have a Diavel ?   I love you   Are you married ?     Sorry about that. A Diavel is my dream bike.

On the Bandits.  Resale is shocking. I traded my perfect 1250 and the dealer has dropped a grand on the price. It was a sweet Bandit with all suspension mods and hundreds more spent on her. You will find a good one.  Suspension is one thing that they all need attending to if you want to ride them seriously.  Best of luck.

There are plenty of good B1250's for sale and as much as it pains me to say it, you dont have to pay much more than 6k privately to get one.
Dont be paying for someone elses mods unless its exactly what you would have done and I've always bought as close to stock as possible.
These beasts are not without fault and cheaply built components but they're more than the sum of their parts.

Something like this might fit your bill Rob.  The ACT is practically NSW.
