What do you think
Took a few extra days off between Easter and Anzac Day. Thought id give making a copy of an MRA second screen out of aluminium and A4 sheet of Perspex. Works well think the aluminium is a bit heavy as standard screen does move a little with it mounted but stable and directs air to top of helmet instead of hitting me in the chest even with my elbows bent and leaning forward . So here is my creation what do you think

I think it could do with some shaping and a bit of black paint but bear in mind it was more of an experiment only cost about $20. $8 for 2 A4 Perspex pieces from ebay got aluminium from friends offcut bin and a cut off wheel and weather strip rubber for grip.

Looks fine, as long as it works that's the main thing. Those MRA screens are a rip off for what they are

It looks good. Happy if it works for you.
You can get rubber edging cheap on eBay. That might finish it off.

Great work, Corsa.
It will certainly make for a more enjoyable and less fatiguing ride. Buffeting wind hitting your chest can be tiring.
Mods like yours personalise your bike and make the bike fit you.
Well done.

Re: What do you think
I'd done something similar some time back using the Vario that I'd already purchased. I felt the Vario was next to useless so I decided to try enlarging the spoiler screen. Worked a treat and being fully adjustable I can still get that OEM wind blast to keep things cool when needed. It's still fitted and doing well. It's particularly useful in the highest setting when it's pissing down, and I can adjust it while riding.
I'd done a post describing the mod here...

Re: What do you think
Thanks NT bill your post is where I got the idea to try and I thought it wouldn't be hard to make a clamp bracket set so when im not doing the long haul rides and get to a nice road or in town I can take it off reasonably easy and put in top box. If anything I think I made brackets a bit to solid and could make them smaller and have enough strength. I still have another piece of perplex so in time I can make another one from what I have learnt or by a clamp on shield and make it a bigger one. The best thing I have learnt from it is they work when big enough so I wont be throwing my money away if I purchase one.

Re: What do you think
It's good to try things out, particularly when it saves coin, so well done. If I was going to change anything on my set up I might try experimenting by going a bit wider to see if it helps reduce the wind for the pillion in a million. She complains that it's a bit buffety back there when doing the 130 legal limit (up here).
Going wider won't make any difference to the front seat tho cos that works well already.
It's on the to (maybe) do list
