1250fa headlight adjustment
Just a quick note on the faired "Better" Bandit. Ooooo!!!
Getting ready for Drake run, thought we might need to see at night, so decided to adjust headlight.
Previously it shone about 3m in front of the bike straight at the road. I have adjusted the beam up so, despite it running out of candles, it will light up a little further up the road.
After a little cursing and contortionist work from bellow the fairing, I discovered that the speedo assembly comes out very readily and gives great access to the back of the headlight unit.
Just two little screws to the bottom left and right of the speedo assembly and pop it off. Easy. 8mm spanner onto adjustment nuts, which have a kind of cog behind them for screw driver adjustment I guess, and fiddle around to figure out which does what. There are three to play with.

Good work. But my advise. Plan to be off the road by dark. Too many risks involved with riding at night. I guess if you have to, then be it. But not for me. The adjustment is a good idea anyway, seeing as how the Bandit low beam is so poor.
Not long to go Bosco. Look forward to meeting you. Ride safe.

The only real way to improve your headlight is to go with HIDs, just don't make the mistake I made. Get better than 35w. If I was doing it again I'd buy 55w

Better still, have a look at the LED's on mine. They work a treat! https://nswbandits.forumotion.net/t4240-my-bandit-on-the-road

The original lighting would be outdone by birthday candles.
I fitted relays when I found the difference between the battery volts and the headlight volts was around 1.8volts. I believe this is mainly due to the vermicelli sized wiring that is used. Relays and some "serious" auto cable made the difference insignificant.
I also fitted 35watt HID and am very happy with them.
