I've seen on a few of the bikes in the Forum that you have painted your Aluminium radiator endcaps, Pillion footpegs and rider footpegs black.

I'd like to do the same.

What is the best preparation and procedure for these pieces so that the finished job looks good?

I didn't do any prep on the radiator end caps but my black heat proof paint is now badly stone chipped.

PS: if you do these be sure to put locktite on the screws, else they will fall out.  pale

Straight on with auto acrylic rattle can but be prepared to repaint every now and then .Wrinkle finish sticks well but dirt gets stuck on it . Hammer paint
sticks well but doesn't come in Satin Black or any black .
A large can of Satin Black from Repco (repco brand ) is better than most .Do not spray on a dam or wet day ,it will go milky .
Ive never found an undercoat works better unless your filling in a scratch .In that case use a primer filler .
Wiping with a grease and wax remover ($4 s\cheap ) is good before painting .
Never use GLOSS BLACK ( looks terrible ) A flat black ,polished , looks like satin black
.
If your not sure how it will look paint it first with kids water paint ($2 tube newsgents ,with brush ) and stand back and judge .Then wash off with water .
