A funny but nice moment .

I stopped for fuel on the way home and a car pulled up beside me .A woman got out , middle aged , a worker ,maybe doing it a bit tough like a lot of people in this suburb .
I went inside to pay and she was in front of me and handed over some sort of "Coles card " . The girl behind the counter  said rudely that's no good here .
The lady had no money to pay so the girl slammed down some written document and said "READ THAT "
I paid for mine and waked out looking at the Lady's bowser who could not pay .
Total = $8 ,obviously trying to get home .
What the hell , I went inside put $8 in front of her and said "tomorrow ,if you have a spare $8 give it to a homeless person down the street "
She looked at me ,threw her arm around me and started crying . She said "I thought my next stop was going to be the police station .
Best $8 ive ever given away or spent .

What a beautiful gesture Gus, give yourself a pat on the back. A great little story. What goes around comes around. Your a good man.

What a guy.  Very good of you to do that. I have been in that situation before, filled up walked inside to pay - no wallet, guy behind counter does the same thing with the paper, "here fill this out and you've got 30 mins to come back and pay or i'll call the cops" I told him to calm down i'd be back in 2 mins. What a dickhead!!

I recently did a similar thing at the supermarket seeing a young single mother and daughter (3-4 yrs old ) having to put some groceries back as they didn't have enough money and they weren't buying barely enough to survive for 3 days let alone a week 

The little girl was very upset about loosing a packet of cherry tomatoes and some other vegetables in the goods being put back and was crying  and the mother was getting upset because of this and couldn't calm the young girl down

I told the checkout attendant to just add the items to my total and I would pay for it the mother broke down crying and thanked me repeatedly

Only cost me $22 and they tracked me down  about 3 weeks later and they had made me a cake to say thanks
It turns out the little girl has Aspergers and can't be reasoned with or fails to understand things that happen and can fly off the handle at the first sign of unplanned change

So good to see that there are still some good people out there 

Remember that there is always some one out there doing it tougher than yourself

It gave me a high better than any illicit substance or booze ever has or can

Tis true . I so dislike those big petrol stations though .I ordered a pie once and the cashier said "Its self serve ,tongs are on top ".
Bloody thing was slippery ,then broke in half and splattered on the floor .
Cashiers yelled "I have to clean that up now ""
Good ,perhaps if you had of served me it wouldn't have happened ,I replied quite pleased with my response .
