Valve shims Empty Valve shims

Post  Jimcoleman Mon 24 Jun 2013, 9:13 pm

Ok i have done a forum search found 1 post in regards to valve shims. But it really going to answer my question .

My bandit has just clocked over 80000 ks and i have not had the shims checked since the 48k service, it seems the general consensus is that they dont ever need doing. Is this train of though frought with danger.

is it difficult to check, the closest bike shop is not on my xmas card list and i would be a hypocrite to give him any of my hard earned cash. I have read on some thread that you have to be careful not to drop the cam adjuster into the bottom of the engine (is this true) anyway any advice would be most helpful

Don't drop anything into the motor but it not an open pit .
Checking is straight forward ,if you know what feeler gauges are you wont have a problem
