G'day from your capital city :)
Hi. I'm Stu and... I have a problem....
This is Bandits Anonymous right?
I just got myself an 06 Bandit. Nice red one
I've only been riding just over a year, but I think I like it....
started on a GPX250. Did 10,000km on that, moved to a KLR650 cos I wanted to ride on dirt as well as road, and have done a good 10,000km on that as well over a few more hours.....
Three weeks ago I "tried on" a bandit that was up for sale locally at what seemed a good price, and somehow it's in the garage along with the KLR...
I'd spent the first few months of riding, well riding, but also, like you do, did lots of research on bigger bikes. Never meant to buy such a big bike yet, but it was on my list of things to try one day and well it was there, and so was I
First test ride I was like holycrapthisisfast. I've done about 1500km on it now, and I'm "used to" the power now, and I love it. Super comfy, can overtake any bloody thing I want, and it looks the goods. Not too bad on petrol either for a big dinosaur.
Most recent owner put on a nice sheepskin seat cover (very nice, thank you), a big useful ventura rack and bag, better screen, and a nice sounding Delkevic Exhaust. Thank god it has heated hand grips cos it's a bit nippy in sunny Canberra at the moment!
Did a quick spin down to Moruya and back today. Somewhat cold, but having a great time learning to ride the beast properly

Welcome.
Sorry to hear about your misfortune Stu'. However there are some other members in Canberra, so maybe you can start a support group.

Hi Stu, there is only one solution to your problem. Just keep riding, eventually the mod bug will bite as well.

Howdy Stu - might see you around the town. I can imagine it felt a bit bolshie compared to the KLR!

Ha, well the klr isn't stock, but yeah the bandit was just a tad faster....
that said, I took the klr for a spin on the weekend on nice lumpy dirt roads and it kinda rules there....
having two bikes is pretty damn cool

G'Day Stu,
Welcome to the forum.
I also have a KLR sitting in the garage alongside the new girl.
Mine is a KLR 250. 1992 model. It was my 1st bike & I've had it for 20 years.
Bog Stock Standard. Used mostly on the dirt, but fully registered for odd commuting until I bought the Bandit.
Its only done about 20,000 clicks. (I've done 12,000 on Bandit since August) I cant bring myself to sell it, although I've had good intentions to, a number of times.
So now it sits there quietly until my young bloke gets his license, when I then intend on getting an old 650, & doing some days in the bush with him.
When I start taking the bandit for granted, I go out & fire the KLR up for a quick squirt up the road. It reminds me of how good the bandit is :D:Dbut each has its place.
Enjoy the Bandit.
Now you KNOW, what you've been missing out on!
