Re: Check this out
Good to see government dept's making an effort. I ride as if no-one in a car can see me. That's obviously not always easy or sensible. We have all had a close call with car drivers, so troops........ heads up look for the bloody idiots and ride safe

Mate if they dont see a low beam they're not going to see a high beam and you'll be pissing a lot of people off.
Its a net loss for all us riders IMHO

Yer but if the car drivers are pissed off and sayng t themselves "bloody bike rider" or similar, then I recon they have seen you.
I used to be a believer in the low beam only thing until one day when I wasn't seen and missed (thankfully) being driven through on a roundabout.
On the finest days and low traffic flow I use low beam but if the traffic is high and in places I feel are a bit dodgier than others I use high beam. It seams to ahve reduced the occurrences of "Ooops, I didn't see you"
jsut my thoughts.

I agree - on a bright day particularly you cant see lights on low beam. and i guess if you are approaching an intersection and the car drivers think 'i wish that guy didnt have hi beam on' then they have seen you. and in the day its not an issue - not at night of course.
Re: Check this out
I replaced my bulbs with the Narva "Plus 50" bulbs.
Not really +50, but definatley much brighter, a little bit whiter and more noticeable.
Better light spread and distribution at night as well.
I have them fitted in the car and on both bikes (mine and wife's).
Cost about $60 for a pair but can be had for about $40 on special.
