Stopped at an intersection and a lady hit me from behind. Meh.

$2200 worth of repairs, covered by insurance.

Poor old bike.

Yeah, I am. I didn't even drop the bike. Was just enough to smash all the plastic at the back of the bike and loosen the pipe.

More of a pain as ive been waiting on the insurance co for 2 weeks just to look at it.

At least she will be fitted with new genuine parts. They even have the tail plastics in the right colour so no painting.

Bummer spokes. I was watching a car get pretty close to me at the lights yesterday, wondering if they had their foot on the brake. But thankfully, I didn't get an impact.

Well that's okay on many levels except the PITA waiting and loss of bike over this period of time.

Good thing you're ok, Spokes, it could have been worse than just waiting for an inspection and getting stuff fixed. At least you wont be out of pocket, right?
I hate stopping at lights in Swan Hill, cause idiots come right up behind me. I turn around to give them the glare, then realise they can see my eyes anyway, (tinted visor) then i move up a bit. They dont creep any further after that.

I think my wife's mother was Medusa. The glare is very dangerous and I don't think a visor would make a lot of difference

Well you wouldnt believe it. I had the bike back a week and a little man decided to pull out in front of me. I was only doing 35 to 40 kph but I hit him. The bike is stuffed. Insurance are in the process of writing her off. Sad

Have bought a Hornet 900 as got one at a stunning price but will always miss my Bandit.

Mate, that is such a pain in the proverbial. Has he admitted liability etc?

I had a Hornet 900 for a while. Light, good power, well made. Not as torquey as the Bandit, but no slug and under-rated in my opinion. The only thing I didn't like about mine was jerky low speed running and the high pipes made my jacket smell of exhaust when I was commuting. I think there was some sort of venturi effect dragging the fumes up and over the back of my jacket, as I'd get to work smelling like an exhaust pipe.

No he is saying its my fault as I hit him. Insurance agrees that its his fault.

This Hornet came up for 4k and has service history and is very tidy.

My understanding is the jerky low speed thing is easy fixed with the flapper mod. They have a trap door on the intake to reduce induction noise at low revs. You just remove the device. I will probably fit a PC2. Never thought on that about the pipes, im fitting my 55lt top box so that my help. I had been thinking of fitting a low mount pipe to it.

I love to mod....

One day I will get another Bandit.
