Something different - Ultra light
I was going to go for a ride today when I got a text message from a mate. He asked if I was keen to go for a fly in his ultralight, he has asked me a few times and so this time I said why not. Turned out to be good fun even though I am not a fan of heights. Anyone else had a go in one of them? Much like a bike in the sky I guess.
We did a paddock landing and take off right near my house which was interesting. My wife thought we'd crashed, all I know is the take off was heaps worse thna the landing. No suspension makes you feel every bump.
For those that have no clue what I am talking about Wikipedia has the info here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ultralight_trike

Don't mind flying. But I like my planes to be quite a bit bigger.

I can tell you I was glad to touch the ground again. It did feel like there is not much around you, but to be honest it was akin to being on a motorcycle instead of in a car

There is a dude a few k from me who operates a powered chute.
Its a pretty slow machine but it looks like an awesome ride.
