Late Intro from Fresh Bandit Rider
G'day to the Bandit Forum,
In November 2012 I acquired a 2008 GSF1250S (nearly 15k on odometer), and shortly afterwards discovered this forum and all the good information and member contributions. The bike came with a Delkevic muffler, aftermarket seat, Givi panniers and Ventura rack and bag. I fitted a fresh Givi screen and a SpeedoHealer.
I recently had the opportunity to better acquaint myself with the Bandit's real world touring capabilities on a 4 day/(nearly)2000k ride from Sydney to Bairnsdale and back via Victorian and NSW Alps. I was more than pleased with the bike's ability to satisfy my expectations. (I had swapped from a 2010 VFR800, which I found to be a very capable and relatively refined machine, but found the peakier revving engine and long distance comfort thru the hands etc too uncomfotable for sustained road legal riding speeds).........The Bandit excelled with its low down torque and smoothness, 4.65L/100K (calibrated) average across the entire trip, and good levels of comfort and handling/grip........yep, so far I'm definitely a Bandit convert.......

Welcome WISA,
I think more people are finding the old Bandit the same as you as I seem to be noticing more and more of them out on the streets, (being ridden not broken down.)

Hello there WISA - and welcome to you. I have just come onboard myself.
Nice feedback on your ride to Vic - thanks!!

Ain't that the truth! My sentiments exactly Wisa.
Having parked my butt on a Bandit seat for only 800 k's I find the smooth 'anywhere-anytime' torque just outstanding - mesmerising
