Bombala Bike Show Sat 17 November 2012
Picked up a brochure today that advises that the Bombala Bike Show is on on the 17th November (Saturday). This reputedly has a good reputation and is well patronised. The brochure says that there are 15 trophies to be won in the following categories:
- American
- British
- Classic
- Custom
- European
- Japanese
- Ladies
- Kids
- Most Unique
- Outfit
- Paint
- Trike
- Vintage
- Overall best
- Peoples choice
I haven't attended this event before but am planning to give this one a go. Does it siut anyone else?

Hi Chris. It's at the Bombala showground - I expect there will be plenty of signage as it's a pretty big deal each year for Bombala. You're welcome to overnight at our farm in the Bega Valley if you'd prefer not to do such a big day ride. We're only about 45 min to 1 hr from Bombala (depending which way you go). I might even ride down and meet you at Cann River for the ride up.

Thanks Dave. Weekends are pretty precious for now as you can imagine but so I will run it by the chief.

Yep, definitely Jim - care to meet up and ride over via Mt Darrah? We could meet at the Wyndham General Store if that route suits - or if 2WA is joining us we could meet him at Cann River or Imlay Rd - in which case I'd probably meet you at the Darrah/Nethercote corner. Or happy for suggestions!

Sounds good. The weather forecast for Saturday at Bombala is also favourable at this stage despite the drizzle out here at Bemboka at the moment.

Re: Bombala Bike Show Sat 17 November 2012
Didn't think I'd bother starting a new thread for a few pics (must be getting slack!).
Met up with Jim and his daughter pillion and Terry (KTM Duke) at Wyndham as planned and took the Mt Darragh road through Cathcart to Bombala. The road is seriously in need of some proper repairs, especially at the Wyndham end - it would be pretty easy to come off as a result of hitting potholes, crevices or loose stuff on many blind corners. Coming back from Bombala to Wyndham there is a left-hander at about the 38km mark with very large potholes that could swallow the front wheel if you didn't see them coming. Think it's time to put pen to paper and write to the Council. It certainly pays to ride this road very warrily. We arrived at about 10.00am but the showgrounds were only starting to get the bike entries in - must remember next year to go after lunch not before. Also returned to the Bega Valley via the Mt Darragh Rd as I was advised that there was a diesel spill at the bottom of Brown Mountain. Here's a few pics of some show entries:
XS750 in top nick (my last road bike before giving riding away to raise the family - so a soft spot for this one).
A flash Harley 1200 (???) something or other.
Pre-R1 days for the Thunderace.
And a work in progress in front of an old Douglas - it's a fair bet that the front tyre size is as common as rocking horse poo!
