Hi all,

I'm about to get a new bike either a Bandit S or a GSR750, I'm leaning towards the Bandit as it is a 'do all' machine, but I still need the final push to order it. Now give me the push! Why should I go Bandit over GSR? FWIW the Bandit is 10k ride away and the GSR 11K.

Welcome to the forum .

Personally I prefer the torque the 1250 delivers & the bandit suits what I use it for ( good all rounder/ trips , commute , scratching etc. ), but it is a heavier bike than the 750 & that may not suit what you want to use it for or you . No doubt the 750 would be easier to go scratching through the hills ( although I,ve not had an issue with the bandit ) & perhaps a bit easier in traffic ( there again I also commute / lane split on the bandit & it does hide its weight on the move) , I suppose it comes down to your physical size & your needs , but I don,t think Suzuki ( or any of the other main manufacturers ) make too many duds these days & which ever you choose you will be happy with . Very Happy

Hi G. I can only speak from the 1200 side of the Bandit, but would encourage anyone to consider the 1250 . After following posts written here for some time on the bike, it is clear that it is probably the best value for money going round. Upgrades are numerous, relatively inexpensive, easy to do, and, the results are " Bloody Awesome ". If I ever part with the 12 it will be replaced by a 1250. No question.

Hi Paul,

How does it go throwing it around between Norton Summit and Lobethal? (Lobethal rd)

Yep done that road many a time & although not as light & nimble as a smaller bike I love the low down torque of the 1250 & it pulls like a train out of the bends ..................like I said once on the move I don't find the weight a problem .

G'day G. I went from an sv650s to my current bandit 1200. The sv had brilliant torque for a medium size v-twin, the 1200 bandit is just so much better. I think I'd be disappointed in the 750 myself as the torque just wouldn't be there, even like the sv had!
Anyway, take them both for a run, & check them out for yourself.
Oh, welcome along.

Welcome G, for what its worth i recently bought near new 1250 for $8000 and could not be happier with all round performance and big easy powerplant , if i want to push the limits i take my motard to mac park because its safe and and cheaper on tyres and demerit points !

Gday and Welcome.

I made a similar comparison after rediscovering the Bandit when I went to the Suzuki website to check out the then new GSR750. Obviously, I bought the Bandit 1250 naked. The Bandit has instant torque whereas you will have to rev the 750 to get it moving. Buy the Bandit, you won't regret it.

Update: Went for a proper look and get a trade for mine, but was dissapointed with the deal and the colours. BUT saw a second hand red one with a Yoshi and was sold. So hello officially to my new bike next week. Now, where's the best deal for a standard screen but dark?Smile

Hi and welcome.
You cant go wrong with the Bandit value wise and I see you have bought one.
My issue with the big girl is agains other bikes we wouldnt pay any more for it.
They're pretty basic but get the job done.

Hello and welcome to the forum G.

When I got my 1250, I did not like the standard screen due to mits lack of protection. I have looked at MRA and Power Bronze screens, but have settled on a Wunderlich deflector, to be added on to the standard screen (I don't mind clear). I am eagerly waiting for its delivery. time will tell how good this option is. It certainly has tremdous range of adjustment and can be moved from bike to bike. I will provide feedback once in use.

Happy riding on the bandit.

Dingo

Hi guys,

It's got an aftermarket screen with a lip on, but I'm short so it's not needed. I can get oem clear from the states, but want a darkish one. I also need a red grab rail.

Welcome G.

Looks good in red. You'll love the 'zing' (torque). Especially in traffic - you don't have to change down to GTFOOT.

You get used to the top heavy weight of the Bandit. I find that I am much steadier now at slow & stop - even with a crook leg. (I ride every day) Twisted Evil
