Lets get some more Bandits out

We where talking a bit today that we need to organise a ride where we have a few more of us getting out there.
I know its hard to get people to commit to a date, but lets try.
Lets make some suggestions, and try to get as many of us out for a ride as possible.
Direction or destination or distance doesnt worry me at all.
Lets get some suggestions happening, and ill move the topic to the rides section.

Lets get some numbers together. Im all for this idea. I was going to head down anyway this year.
Ive never been before, so if there is anybody that know of good accomodation for the weekend, let us know.

Well I've already done my quota of Philip Island trips this year

But we did stay in a caravan park, on the left just over the bridge, it was a good spot and not far back to facilities (pubs) at San Remo, the cabins are recommended, we had 4 to a cabin.

We went last year had a house for $1300 for the w/end but unbelievable fun though!

I few of us are coming down to the GP this year, I was going to just go riding while the others were at the GP. You know, do a few iconic roads etc. However a bandit get together might change my mind on this. I would at least drop in for a photo shoot and possibly liquid refreshment.

I went to the Superbikes in 09 and stayed at a little place called Kilcunda. Its about a 20 minute ride to the track. Its on the road to Wonthaggi. When you come off the Island and get to the big round about turn right and its a few minutes up the road.

Rooms are ok, clean, right next door to Kilcunda pub. The pub meal prices are pretty exy but a good meal. There is also a cafe a few doors down from the pub.
The rates we were charged in 09 for the superbikes was $88 per night per room (2 singles) for 3 nights.
They only have about 8 rooms but were planning on building more.
They do have a bit of a website www.kilcundamotel.com.au The owners are a bit hard to contact though. When we got there we paid our money at the pub, might have some tie up

I just sent them an email asking if they have rooms open for the FRI SAT & SUN nights and what it would cost (I think they might increase cost for the motoGP .. let you all know if I get a reply.

I got a reply from the motel, they do have rooms available on the motoGP weekend .. its way to expensive for me , so I'm not going.
Here is their reply;

We do have rooms available for the Grand Prix weekend. We offer our rooms at $185 per night and a deposit would be required when confirming a booking. Please call me if you wish to make a booking or if you require any further information.

What a rip off Thats $100 more per night than the usual rate. Its outta my budget too. Was going down to PI this weekend with my son who is doing 2 ride days Mon/TUES. Sent them an email 3 weeks ago about rooms, finally got a reply yesterday. Too late made other arrangements.
