4 wheeled fun
Hi Guys,
A number of you may have seen my posts on ASF and OSS in the past.
Since my fun machine shares a number of parts with the older Bandits, I thought it would be fitting to join this forum also.
He is a link my GSXR/Bandit powered race car for those that are unfamiliar with it.
http://members.optusnet.com.au/~pwstone/
I am also keen to communicate with others who share my passion for reliably extracting those last few ponies from the old oil cooled lumps.
Cheers
Peter.

Re: 4 wheeled fun
Not to many Bandits or GSXR1100s that will do 1:46 around the island and 1:32.5 around Winton.
Now that's fun.
Now that's fun.

Nice car. Looks like the next mod would have to be a turbo charger But that'd kill all your other mods of higher compression etc.
I'd be interested to see what the 1250 would be capable of if you upped the compression, played with the timing and maybe modified the cams to suit.

Re: 4 wheeled fun
Any sort of forced induction attracts a 1.7x capacity multiplication factor penalty under CAMS regulations and bumps me well outside the 1300cc class.
I am currently running 1196cc and a compression ratio of over 13:1.
The only effective way to get more power now is to increase valve sizes and add more valve duration and lift. Unfurtunately that adds considerably more cost and reduced reliability.
I will most likely consider some small cam improvements in the next rebuild but will keep valve sizes the same.
Peter.
