For all those Bandit riders located in the ACT region - with the weather looking suddenly better, it's time
for a few rides. What's happening around Canberra, any rides or get togethers planned soon?

While I'm at it - can anyone recommend a good workshop nearby that I can entrust my Bandit to?

Howdy jgs9000,
I'm currently on leave and spending most of my time down in the Bega Valley so I'd be problematic as far as joining a ride. As far as servicings go, CMC (Mitchell) has done all of mine and I was happy with the result. I haven't had any experiencve with CMC Fyshwick.

If you don't mind the trip over the border, Dahlitz do a good job at servicing. Their loaner bikes are pretty long in the tooth though. I think the last decent sized group ride was to Bombala.

I'm in Canberra too but with an addition to the family on the way my riding options are getting limited for the near future. I might be able to squeeze in the odd day ride though, just no more overnighters for a while.

Dahlitz is pretty good, or if you're down south try the bloke in Tuggeranong just near the fire station (name escapes me).

I'm nearly good to go after an ankle fusion with four months rest, and I've got everything ready for the bike to go back together in the next week or so (milled head, new cam, other bits), so I'm very keen to get out for a day. Lunch at the Jamberoo Pub?

The guy in Tuggers is the Tuggeranong Motorcycle Centre, haven’t had any work done there but they seem OK. Mostly I do my own stuff but have used Dahlitz’s for the rectifier recall and they recently did a throttle body balance and TPS reset. They dropped my tank in the process but stumped up for a brand new one, (actually I bought the old one for $200 and now have a brand new spare complete with stickers). Would totally vouch for Greg and the boys, they are also great for ordering parts.

My bike of off the road ATM but should be back soon, so I will be up for a ride anytime. How about picnic day? It’s not a public holiday in NSW so no double points.

Thanks for the tips re: Dahlitz. Soon after I got the bike I took it back to CMC (who delivered it) to get a service and get the book stamped. I was dissapointed with
the result, just not enough care shown, ie: the bike went to them in sparking clean condition, and came back looking like it had had a wet greasy rag wiped all over it,
plus they left the cap off the coolant resevoir, so a nice mess of coolant spashed out all over under the seat. Given the bike was a totally immaculate 1 owner bike
showing under 9000km on it when I got it, the CMC experience was a little underwhelming.... not incompetent, just not careful enough.

I do most of my own work - but would appreciate having a competent workshop nearby to handle the trickier stuff when it comes up, and for the odd standard service
to keep the service book stamped and up to date.

As far as a ride goes - being a newby to the list I'm looking forward to meeting some of the locals - so any chance for a ride now the weather is improving would be great.

I wouldnt be too worried about the service book. The Bandit isnt exotic and a service record wont make or break a sale.
As long as its clean, straight and looked after you'll get what its worth when it comes time to sell.

I expect you're right - but I even stamp the service book for my lawnmower ..... that's just me though.

I think I burned all my brownie points at Eastern Creek on Monday. I may need to defer to another time,

Any takers for tomorrow? Cracker of a day out there now, but I have parental duties for this arvo.

I re-jetted the bike this morning and just came back from a 40km round trip to the Royalla fire shed. It's running perfectly and I can't wait for a longer ride.
