if your up for something different, theres a product called ALTREX (and possibly other brands) which is a clear film, about .6mm thick that you can coat your hole bike in and prevents scratches and bug shit. I was a bit suss on it to begin with until I saw someone I know use it over a 3year period, who does alot of highway, and they have only recently taken it off due to bug and stone damage to have it replaced.

when taken off, the paint looked like it just came from the factory, didn`t damage paint at all, only preserved it.

i`m trying to find a web page i came across some time ago, that you can get kits for bikes to cover just about any part of your bike you want protected.

looks much better than an ugly bra(unless you like that look) and you have to get up very close to even know that you have a film on!

Tank Bras, Car Bras and seat covers, all bloody ugly and all your doing is protecting the vehicle for the next owner and not enjoying it for yourself.

I thought you were starting to dress your bike in drag now .....................Phew! Razz

I have just used duct tape on any areas that could have got scratched on a trip by luggage & removed it when I got home .

That's what I used on my tank. The tank bra was slipping and putting more scratches that preventing. Ducoscratch stuff is a PITA to apply, but it doesn't stick out like dogs balls.

yeah,i`m going to get a kit for the whole bike and half debating whether to get it pro fitted or not, i don`t mind a challange, but will be quicker and easier for them to do it

My bike has the black engine so the black tank cover doesn't really stick out much.

Unlike the windscreen from the #6 bus Laughing

I have a tank protector. Hate tank bra's I sit forward and over the tank and I'm happy to suffer the occasional scratch. Its a bike. Its meant to be used. Wink

I go with the scratches. Smile Maybe if I had a custom paint job I might consider something like the ducoscratch scratch but maybe then I would become anal about the whole thing and the bike end up spending more time in the garage then the road Evil or Very Mad I put nothing under the tank bag when I use it.

I put a clear skin kit on mine from these guys: www.customskins.co.nz

It takes time to put on but is next to invisible and protects paint well. The stuff on the tank stops the wear marks from the inside of the knees, plus I have a tank protector over it as well. I need to get a new one for the top fairing (the crash last year ruined it), and unfortunately they don't make one for the lowers.

This pic shows the clear film on under a Keiti tank protector (hard to see the clear at all)
