Tyres and Things
I finally changed tyres from the original Sportmax at 7,800km. I was heading off on a trip for a week and I reckoned the Max's were looking a bit dodgy for unforeseen conditions, although they still might have had 1000km to reach the indicator blocks (in the grooves).
I bought some Michelin PR4s and put 1500km on them last week touring, mostly sunny and a day of rain including coming down from the range around 30km of wet twisties. The PR4s did everything I could have wanted. Apart from that, they look incredible!
....and this Bandit!. It has to be a legend. It was unreal on the trip. I know it has all been said before but it does such an easy job of touring, just incredible. That engine! I could hug it. I spent Saturday cleaning, chain etc and it looks like new. Removed panniers and frames and it looks like a sporter again.
So I'm off the shed right now to check it out againĀ !

Re: Tyres and Things
When you say "down the range", do you mean down the Bruxner hwy from Tenterfield, past Drake?

Roger that! Correct. Nice work.
The Bruxner to Tenterfield and back is my fave 1 dayer. Get the timing right and you can almost have it to yourself.

Top bit of road. I've only been down it once, & I reckon it would only get better if I got to know it a bit better

Yes KS, it really is a treat climbing the range on the Bandit. Corners galore and climbing 1000 metres, and of course the Bandit thinks hills are flat! A few good cafes for a break and back again.
A day off work in the week and away you go. Honestly sometimes hardly a car. Strike, we are lucky!!
