New 2wheels mag
Hey b12mick, is this the same bloke that we have here, that posted in the 2wheels mag?
Does anyone read this mag? If yes, what about the new layout? like it or not?
I've probably bought it 2-3 times or so in the last couple years, but now i'm riding road bikes, i'm a bit more interested in the road bike mags.
What are good ones to get ??
Also any good web sites that you guys visit?.....Bike related that is...
Cheers,
Solerida.
I will disobey the road rules if i feel that i am in no danger of being injured or killed

Re: New 2wheels mag
Motorcycle Trader (for the editorial these days) is the mag I buy each month. The others are shared around. Dont like AMCN much though
Motorcycle Trader has a write up on the Bandit (GSX1250) this month and its up against full house sports tourers.
I can scan and post if anyone is interested.

Yes that was me. Although, typical of the press, that was only part of what I said. I actually wrote.
"I will obey the road rules if I feel that doing so won't injure or kill me. I will disobey the road rules if I feel that I am in no danger of being injured or killed".
It was in a thread that was basically asking "do you always follow the road rules". Elsewhere in that thread I pointed out that I'd rather run a red light than get smashed from behind and I'd rather break the speed limit when passing another vehicle than spend to long on the wrong side of the road.

I read in AMCN a couple of years ago the following in regards to the Bandit. Paraphrasing of course. "When the Bandit was first released it was the the biggest, meanest, fastest hoon bike on the market. Now, much like it's owners, it's a bit fatter around the middle, not quite as quick or mean as it once was, but it is still whole lot of fun and will still surprise the 'kids' every so often"
I liked that, mainly because I resemble that comment. In 1996 (I think that's when the 1200s was released here) I was 31, wieghed 75kg and was extremely fit. Now in 2010 I will turn 45 and I wiegh 105kg and I'm far from fit.
As for the new look and feel of 2wheels, I find it 'messy' and not much has actually changed in the content or writing style.

Re: New 2wheels mag
I bought mine as a sports tourer that was capable of being hustled when asked.
I read the article with a grin knowing the FJR and GTR are no where near as good as their pricing suggests (twice the bike for twice the price).
When its all said and done most riders wouldn't find the limits of a Bandit let alone something with 180 ponies and I'm not into pissing contests.

Thanks for the quick replys folks
Motorcycle Trader is a great read....for both on road and off road information.
Thanks for the scan 2wheelsagain!
Same here.
The media seems to do this all to often.

Im a fan of AMCN and cycle torque.
I used to read two wheels, but found it has dropped the ball compared to AMCN in recent times

Reckon most mags now days cost way to much, for the amount of useful info in them. Buy bike trader now and then..

Re: New 2wheels mag
I flick through the mags at the newsagents and if there is more than one article I want to read I'll buy it. In the last 12 months I've bought 5 (2 AMCN's, 2 Two wheels and a Road Rider).
I usually pick up a copy of Cycle Torque from the local bike shop. I think it's the best value for money bike mag in Australia.

+1 for Rapid. I like the way they feature modified bikes, not just new ones.
