Quoting Posts
<Rant> Quoting someone's post is a handy way to confirm who and what you're talking about.
Generally quotes are left as posted to save any confusion further down the thread on who said what etc.
Its generally considered acceptable to highlight a quote or a part of it for emphasis but its considered pretty form to delete lines or change it in any other way. An explanation on why a quote was changed/deleted/modified if it was would be appreciated by most members.
Some on this site take it upon themselves to change what others have said. It's. Not really a quote then is it? </Rant>

Sometimes you might just want to reply to a particular part of a post, not the whole bloody thing.

Thats fine if it doesnt change the context of the original post. Removing words or adding words in the quote is not quoting the poster.
