Gday all would like to say hello, just joined, have just traded in a z750 kawasaki, not enough go, should not have listened to my son, and bought a 2009 1250 gsf ex demo with 2000 ks on it, and loving it, cant understand all the reviews on this bike they all say its got cheap suspension and does not handle, mine must be an exception coz it goes round bends on rails no twitching no worries no nothing, they must have thought they were on Rossies Ducati lol, while i am on here does anyone know how much extra hp is gained by a power commander after market exhaust and a better breathing filter, any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks Allan

Welcome to the forum Allan.

while i am on here does anyone know how much extra hp is gained by a power commander after market exhaust and a better breathing filter
The info is here on the forum. to those mods I think it's like 15-20hp or with headers 20-32hp. Not all bikes are the same tho.

Hi and welcome aboard. Good to see that you are going for the first Essential mod'. Letting the girl breath, as well as making her sound a lot better and shedding quite a few kilos. Enjoy.

Welcome aboard.
The Bandit is all about torque.
If Suzuki were serious the 1255mm mill should be putting out 145 - 150hp but thats not what it was designed for.
Maybe you should have forked out an extra 4k for a FZ1 or Z1000 if you're after more hp.
I agree the B1250 handles ok for what its suspended with and good riders can use all the tyre without any mods.

Why is there always a sort of "but" after praising a built to a price bike?

But the lower compression means a less highly strung motor... which could also possibly take to a turbo quite easily Smile

If there's one mod you shoudl consider it is removing the secondaries... That is the best bang for buck mod to my bike so far

Thanks to you all for the welcoming posts, and thanks for the info on holeshot, will give the walkerman a bell tomorrow and sus out a few prices on tuning, some one said they are not built for going fast , but I also dont want to tow a caravan with it either, they are built for the masses and so there is lots of horses trapped inside dying to get out and I would sooner have them out than in, anyway thanks to you all again and maybe as I live on the doorstep of the Black Spur I just might come across one of you guys doing some bandit scatching and say hello. oh and I would like to post pictures but as I am oldanstupid I need some step by step instructions please. Shocked

If you live on the spur the best mod you can do is get a rear end jack up kit to help it turn a bit quicker and do something about the front forks. I've just done it to my bike, but haven't ridden it as I decided to also buy an 08 GSXR1000 rear shock to replace the stocker.

My Bandit has doen track days and never gets blown away by anyone on a country run. It apparently can do about 255kph flat out, but i heard it hurts your neck after 5 - 10 minutes.

I also recommend a 17 tooth front sprocket if you are keen on making acceleration more on the priority list. It will help decimate rear tyres, but the grin is worth it.
