surge at 60k
I,ve got a surge at 60k at steady throttle on my GSX1250. The bike has only done 2000k and the Suzuki dealer says this is a characteristic. Has anybody experienced this and come up with a fix? I haven't done any modifications and the bike performs well apart from this.

Re: surge at 60k
That's quite common for the 1250. They don't all do it and thankfully mine never did.
I would be steering clear of that dealer however as it's not a Suzuki feature you should have to deal with and its fixable. Search these forums and you will see what others have done.
No car company would get away with customers complaining about fueling would they?
I have a theory that's made me unpopular with some riders so I will kept it to myself :-)
As a pointer how much sideways play do you have in the grip?
Edit: 60k in what gear? Should be in 2nd.

Re: surge at 60k
Pedro, there are a few things that can cause this problem on the 1250 (they also affect the 650) and it is not a characteristic of the bike no matter what your dealer tells you
A couple of things you could do are to have the TPS set correctly and balance the TB's. After having that done get a ISC value reset done (you need special software like the healtech OBD tool or go to your dealer if he has SDS and knows how to use it).
The above may be all that is needed but if not we can help out more as there are quite a few tricks to fix the surging you are feeling so post back after getting all this done and tell us how things are.

I wonder what black on black would look like?
Dhula must get an award for the most acronyms in a post designed to bamboozle a noob.
He managed to squeeze 5 of them into about 4 lines
Maybe we need an Acronyms Sticky?

To help people who don't understand the acronyms here they are in full
TPS = Throttle Position Sensor
TB's = Throttle Bodies
ISC = Idle Speed Control
OBD = OnBoard Diagnostics
SDS = Suzuki Diagnostic System
