Gel seat question
I bought an 08 1250 Bandit a few months ago and the seller told met it had a gel seat. I'm not questioning his honesty, I'd just like to know how I can identify a Suzuki seat as a gel seat if I have no standard seat around to compare with. Is there some hidden identification mark somewhere?
Thanks,
Ed

Re: Gel seat question
Baz,
Thanks for the info. As a matter of fact, it does NOT look like that. Mine has no seams. No matter. My new Sargent arrived yesterday. I was going to advertise the old seat and wanted to confirm what it was or was not. If it's the standard seat I suspect there's no market for it at all.

Re: Gel seat question
Maybe the old owner reupholstered the seat and put a gel insert in it but used the same covering.

Re: Gel seat question
I tried the Suzuki gel seat, and man it was one hard seat, and I ended up selling it after putting less than 500 miles on it, then I bought my Sargent seat which is very comfortable.

Re: Gel seat question
So any good vehicle upholsterer should be able to insert a gel pad in a standard seat?
Or am I better off buying something "bespoke" (to quote Triumph!)?
A mate of mine, who has a 1200S Bandit, reckons he just had the corners shaved, and that has made a huge difference to the comfort of the standard seat.
I'm heading off to Alice Springs in a couple of weeks for the Black Dog Ride and have a brand-new, never used Airhawk, so I'll see how that goes.

Have a look at this guy Kevin at VCM seats a really nice guy and have heard some great feedback. I am having my seat done by him later this month in readiness for me being able to ride again
