why is it so?

ok guys,call me an idiot if you like.
the secondary thermo fan on my bike i have not seen it running.
jason and i are wondering when it actually comes on (sorry jase)
i thought it was for the air con but i can`t find the aircon switch. LOL.
i reckon gus will be the first to reply (the master)
i went to check the manual last night but got distracted
maybe i`m lazy but who needs to check these things when i`ve got
a mass of information at my finger tips

Your right on one thing and thats i'm the fist to answer .Gus is good at cleaning things if its got a lot of wires going to it ???
The S and naked have one fan the faired model 2. I'm not sure what you have. The fan on mine ( 1 fan ) cuts in at approx 105 c .
The only time i have heard it come on is when i have turned the bike off after a quick run and then turned the ignition back on
1 min later. I would have thought the 2 fan model is the same.

gus,mine is gsx1250fa and that fan has not turned on at all
jason in qld has the same bike and asked me the same question.
maybe cam`s dad will know.

I was about to hit send but I didnt want to spoil it for you Gus. You can thank me later
Instead I did a bit of Googling and couldnt find anything suggesting how hot it needs to be before the second fan comes on. The 2 fans seem smaller than our 1 and for what its worth my 1 fan has never come on in use only after switching off and on again as you mentioned.
On a cold mornings ride to work I wish it would come on

I let my bike idel after a ride for a couple of minutes one day to see if my fan worked. it did

my fan is always coming on, however i seem to notice it most as im parking up for the day.... most likely as bike is idling for short period whilst opening gate, shed door etc before riding her in.

i think it`s 1.my 2010fa has 2.never seen both going only the inside 1
just took it for a blat got it good and hot 7 grand and up,only 1 fan
