Built to a Price.
We all agree the Bandit is a bargain price for what you get, but i'm making a call that unless looked after they could start to look shabby quickly.
I just went over mine (09) and some parts not bad,but not great either .Next year i'm thinking might look bad .The parts that concern me are.
Frame--rust ,Mesh covers on naked-rust ,footpegs look old now ,heal guards well worn ,paint on wheels looks thin .
Overall i'm "happy as " but i dont think i would like to park it outside every-night. 35,000kls

Re: Built to a Price.
I agree with the heal guards and wheel paint. The rest of my bike is wearing well. But its garaged every night and in a shed all day at work and gets a clean most weekends with quality products.
I'd like some carbon fibre stickers to put over the heal guards and when the rims are banged up enough I'll have them repainted in two pac.
I'd also like to see better paint the paint on the tank where the knees rub. Leathers wear that area really fast and the scuffs dont polish out.
I'm getting some cream from the local Novus shop to polish the light scratches out of the screen.
Built to a price it is but I'm still happy with the quality.

I always like looking at the same model bike .The worse kept the better ,gives you an insight what to keep an eye on .I've got those scuff
marks on the tank ,look like they should polish out but dont. The only thing that worries me is the rust on the frame. All the others are a quick fix
but the frame to do it properly thats major.Sounds fun though .

My heal guards look like they have been polished from the hard plastic bits on my boots..i think it looks good...when i have the time...im going to give them a proper polish to finish the look.
One thing i have noticed...is that the paint is very weak compared to other bikes...stone ships very easily

Mine is a 2001 model and suffered British road gritting, it now has 31000 miles on the clock and I must admit I am not the most fastidious owner. I am still surprised every time I wash it how good it still looks.

I looked at the paint on the new bandit wheels. Defiantly better than mine ,mine must have got the end of the spray can.
