What size?
Did i read somewhere there is a special size phillips head to use on the 8 screws that hold the secondary butterflies in place.Getting tempted.
Got plenty of screwdrivers but may need a good quality one to "lock on " but what size.

Re: What size?
Japanese Industry standards
Why you need Japanese Industrial Standard screwdrivers...
Improper screwdriver fit strips out screw heads, wastes valuable time, and makes hard work out of something that should've been rewarding.
When working with model airplanes, electronics, robotic servos or other equipment manufactured according to precision specifications, you need the proper tools. Always use the right tool for the job.
Japanese and other precision-made Phillips' head screws require screwdrivers that meet precise Japanese specifications, but many common American and European screwdrivers don't meet those specs. Our JIS screwdrivers do. They'll save you time, money, and needless frustration.

Re: What size?
Don't forget to get yourself a small soldering iron (a 40w one will do the job) with a tip a bit smaller than the head of the screw
Apply some heat to the screw head to heat up the thread locking compound used on the screw which should make it somewhat easier to remove the screw without fusking the screw head or your screwdriver tip and all going well ensure you don't ahve to drill the screws out (which quite a few have had to do it seams)
My suggestion is to remove the TB's completely from the bike and place them on the bench or some kind of holding device (soft jaws) so both your hands are free to work.

Re: What size?
Hoping if i do this i can remove screws without drilling so i can replace them (butterflies ) if i want.Found out the hard way that a $1 screwdriver
is useless when my bar-end weight jumped ship in Tassie .Borrowed a "snap-on " screwdriver and found out what tight was. The different feel was
amazing .I'd like to highjack the "snap -on " truck and hide it under the house.

Re: What size?
Gus, I bought a set of Hozan JIS screwdrivers from the States as I couldn't find them locally, I believe you need size 0. BTW I learned that the JIS phillips is marked by a single punch mark on the head, I had been seeing these for years, mainly around Japanese carby's and never knew its significance.
Cheers

One day I'll get around to removing them. Should have done it when I had the bike in bits for the 24K service.

Re: What size?
Either type of tool will be fine to use so long as you use the soldering tip, not the "blow fucking hot air or flame at stuff" tip
