Boring Ride.
I know a guy who wrote off his brand new Busa a month or so ago. He finally found a replacement at a great price from a dealer in Rockhampton. $2000 cheaper than the Brisbane dealer. So he flew up yesterday to take delivery. I had the day off so I said I would ride half way up (350km) and meet him on the way down. When we met up I discovered that he had another riding partner. His new girlfriend on her own Busa. OK I thought. This is going to be fun. We set off and pretty soon the two of them were so far behind I could not see them. I was just riding at the speed limit. After some time I turned around and went back. Found they had pulled into a servo to fuel up. OK. Then I get the info. His girlfriend is on the twelve month, one point restriction. Oh No ! She had lost all her points. Mostly in 80k zones. I don't think she went over 100 kph once. Finally I saw them pull into another servo behind me. I could not go back so I just kept going. Phew !
Moral of the story. Don't ride with females on Busas that are on one point.

Re: Boring Ride.
That would have sucked.
About a year ago I rode with a couple of mates who had been at me to ride with them for ages.
I agreed and we did my favourite lap then part of on of theirs through the South Gippsland hills.
Mate 1 was on a VTR205 but had plenty of miles and mate 2 was on an ER6 but hadn't ridden for over 12 months. I was on the Firestorm.
Mate 1 topped out at 120 on the flat and mate 2 wobbled around all day. Overall it was the longest and most frustrating 450km I have ever done.
They had a good day though

It was supposed to be just Chris on his new Busa, but his GF decided to surprise him by riding up after dropping him off at the airport in Brissy. Never mind.

I think you're really talkin about Dave and myself when we met up with you. All we saw was a sound wave blast coming off the back of your Viffer. You had luck on your side that day.

I don't think you were that slow and you both left me for dead at the roadworks.
I did use the least fuel though

Re: Boring Ride.
Yep I've had one of these rides before. The worst though was a ride this time last year to meet up with a night of Perth guys. We rode through terrible weather to get there, we got totally soaked. The Perth guys never showed. I was pretty annoyed as wet leathers take forever to dry

Bummer mate - won't happen like that when we ride to WSBK - although you better take care if you're putting the panniers back on!

I think I will sell those panniers. Back to the Ventura for me.

That's only because you pushed the Viffer through the roadworks because you didn't want to flick up any stones and mark the undersides of your guards.2wheelsagain wrote:

More like a fear of getting anal probed by Vicpol for being a violator at roadworks

Re: Boring Ride.
I hear where your coming from Hammy, but in all honesty, the road from Mackay to Brisbane(1000kms) is absolutely shocking for the constabulary.
I`m riding down to Briz tomorrow from Gladstone, about 600km, and I`ll be sticking to the speed limit.
All the new covert vehicles they`ve got on the road now, you don`t know what your passing.
In the last two weeks alone, I`ve seen so many cars pulled up by cops, that made me do a double take, to what the cops are now using.
The fun parts for me are corners, not the straights, and that's my fear, as you don`t know what`s coming around the bends, and where they`ll sting you.
Its an absolute given, if you see any vehicle with dark tinted windows, that almost look like an illegal tint, ITS A COP. But that's anywhere.
It all makes the fun, not so fun anymore.

It also means your concentrating on your speed more than anything else. Problem we have down here in the nanny state, with such a fine tolerance for speeding everyone is glued to their speedo and not paying attention to what is going on around them.
Just remember though "speed kills" no other cause for dead on the road

Totally agree with you, but what do you do????
I`m leaving in an hour at 2pm, for the 6hr journey, which I love doing,
But......we all must remember, "its about saving lives"... not "REVENUE"......LIVES. Because the man on the TV said so!!!!!
