Bandit meet 6-8 March 2015 Parkes NSW
First topic message reminder :
Ok, here's my thoughts on a Bandit meet up for 2015.
As per the topic title, Parkes is the meeting place. The time is March 6-8 2015. The Coachman Hotel/Motel is where we have booked in to stay.
I'm thinking of a 180 odd km ride on the Saturday that encompasses Manildra, Cudal, Eugowra, Forbes & back to Parkes.
JTB has also suggested a ride out to Temora as there is a aviation show on at the Temora airfield. (I hope I got that right)
Anyone interested in this?
Cheers, Kiwisteve

Ahhh, you can feel the excitement building. Parkes won't know what struck it ! Can someone remember a box of stickers so that we can all have name tags. I hate having to call everyone MATE. See ya all real soon. And a few of you even sooner.

I've started putting real names next to user names on the shirt list as I tick off who has paid, still wont be able to match them to faces though

Gee, um, thanks Max. Now I'm worried.
Us old timers know each other. It's just these "Get Together" Virgins that are a bit of a worry.

Excellent. I like the certainty of knowing where my first coffee will be.
Edit
Oops, apparently there has been a change of plan. Expect a communique anon.

Re: Bandit meet 6-8 March 2015 Parkes NSW
Hi all just an update from the southern NSW crew. Leaving Thursday morning as i have some stuff to do in Canberra and staying at the loaded dog hotel in Tarago, I am of the understanding that Tag, Ewok, Hammy, Baz, John (speedy rider) and Brett ( on the Nazi war machine) will be gathering there for the first night, i have booked this for us $40 a head.
Leaving tarago Friday and heading to Goulburn, crookwell, Wyangla Dam, Parkes - so if your in the area and feeling like company let us know and we will meet you along the way
Cheers
Jim

Re: Bandit meet 6-8 March 2015 Parkes NSW
Not much talk about what we want to do on the Saturday. I propose a ride out to Lake Corelligo. 194km. A rest stop at Condobolin. 101km. So roughly 4 hours riding with a couple of hours at the lake.
Just a suggestion. I'm open to any other options. I have seen the "Dish". I don't think it would have changed much. JMO.
See ya all real soon.

Ill go along with others that have a better local knowledge, I've never stopped at the dish but could do the Friday or Sunday on the way past, a group photo of everyone's bike in front of it would look good though.Hammy wrote:Not much talk about what we want to do on the Saturday. Maybe something like this then? That way we're not coming back down the same route
And I'm agreeing with you about the dish, being as it is only 25k from Parkes. Its not worth tying Saturday up with a short trip like that.
That's why I suggested earlier to maybe include the dish, for those who want to, on Friday arvo.

That's fine. Still plenty of time to do that in a day. Then get back and drag JC's lifeless corpse out of the pool. The lake looks interesting on goggle maps (photo). The "Dish" visit does not take too long. As you can only view it from the outside and there is just a souviner shop with a few displays.

Could we drop into the Dish for a photo on the way back to the Coachman if we are travelling between Forbes and Parkes anyway?Hammy wrote:madmax wrote:Hammy wrote:Not much talk about what we want to do on the Saturday.
