New Fa owner from nthn Sydney
Hi. Just bought a 1250fa after owning a gsx650f for a few years and am looking foward to owning the Fa for a greater number of years. The 650 was reliable workhorse and I'm hoping the Fa wil be as good. The 650f site forum was a great help to me and I'm sure this forum will be as good, as I think a few of the brains that were on that site are now on this one as well. "Dhula" are you here? Ahhh there you are, oh mighty guru, may the light from the flashs of numerus $peed cameras never be able to catch up to your rego plates as you go past at warp 9.
Now, does anybody know how to get the fu%#^#$&ing bastard right hand fairing off on the 1250fa easily (without using explosives or oxy torch). I want to go and kick the lazy moron designer that put the right inner fairing over the radiator mount just to make it hard get off. Any tricks? I can get it off but it really is a pain in the rectum.

Welcome to the forum from another FA owner in the hills. Unfortunately I cannot help with the fairing removal as I have not had to try as yet.

hello and welcome.
I too am unable to help with fairing removal as I am yet to undertake that task ... many times I tried, riding the bike always looked a better use of time

Welcome aboard - I recommend your leave the RHS fairing on - the FA looks a bit unbalanced without it.

hi mate,
welcome.if you want the fairing off start with the dash and screen.i took the tank off also.
there is a clip behind the speedo/tacho that clips off easily.all the grub screws are easily seen
but different sizes.down inside the fairing there are push clips.you need a small screwdriver flathead
the front of the fairing clips off under the headlight.there are a couple of clips in under the radiator
each side.once you get started it gets easier.whilst you have the fairing off i suggest you tighten
all the radiator clamps and every small bolt you can find.mine were all loose and dripping coolant.
good luck,have fun
greg

Yes the fairings are a PITA but they are do able with some patience (not that i've got any). Remove all the allen bolts, disconnect the turn signal indicator plug , remove all the big & small plastic push in clips and you should be able to wriggle it out of there. I don't think there is a knack to it ,its just fiddly.

Naah fairing removal is a piece of piss. As the other have pointed out, there are to push pin fasteners located on the inside of the fairing, left hand side it's the one pretty much on top of the duct/radiator and right hand side is near the second fan. Push them in, remove the other bolts and pop out the plastic lock pins.
