Trivia .....
First topic message reminder :
What does everone think about a TRIVIA thread
Stuff that maybe of no use to most people but really handy to the others. Maybe a good DVD ,something they have made, seen ,heard of ,
cooked ,been too .Minor things that do not really warrant a post of there own.(like most of my stuff ,there beat you to it )
Like taking a tractor tyre up north to float your Bandit across a river to a football selection ,the taste of beer ,who's state is
better at Rugby League. (may be not that) .Something that may make someone else say ,"why didnt i think of that".
Good idea or just post it on "off topic discussions " or not post it at all? (feeling vulnerable now )

Could be. Makes me wish Suzuki bring out white bandits or at least white GSX1250FA's. A couple of stickers and switchable blue LED's and I could fuck around with cagers headsSaikhan wrote:Colour maybe?

I've read this a couple of times and I only, sort of, understand it.

I'm not 100% certain Gus, but wouldn't you think that if they were illegal then Bike shops would not be allowed to sell them ?

Re: Trivia .....
Not after today .Got pulled again for it .No fine but another warning , thats twice for me .I 'm taking it of this arvo .
Have noticed in the last few weeks with a breath check they now give the bike a look over as well .
I'm thinking one day soon it will be no more warnings and a compulsory fine .
So ,its official . Cylindrical tube rego holders are ILLEGAL no ifs or but .

In QLD at least. No problems with mine so far and I've had the cylinder holder on the 650 as well. The current one is one of those Redline ones I got with my ARR subscription.gus wrote:So ,its official . Cylindrical tube rego holders are ILLEGAL no ifs or but .

Re: Trivia .....
So far .
It get complicated my g\friends bike was passed .The sticker was glued to the fork leg .Last time i checked that is cylndrical as well , i glued it there .It does say on the back of the rego papers "Not Legal " so that good enough reason for me to go the fork leg .
I started my Aprilia up while he was checking Carol's bike, V2 with an open Akar. Not my best idea i thought as i rolled away down the hill .

Re: Trivia .....
some bloke challenged this in court and lost...reason ..Mr Plod can't see whole sticker without rotating the thing .....and we can't have that now can we?......someone seems to have missed the fact that with on board computers, Plod knows all about you before he requests assistance with his enquiries............................Grumpy

Re: Trivia .....
I agree with Grumpy. They know everything about you and your bike before getting out of their car. There is absolutely no reason for needing to see the whole sticker IMHO. They are just looking at making money any way they can.

Re: Trivia .....
Not at a breatherliser site they dont .There was one down the road from my house the other w\end .I sat and watched for 30 mins .
They showed a lot more interest in bikes than normal , as today .I didnt get a fine but was told "i'd change that if i was you ,enjoy your ride "
I'm not complaining he didnt look at the can .We were warned of a blitz in the paper due to a lot of deaths .
Over all a good ride ,ran into FREEWAY .Get wet on the way home Rob ?

Re: Trivia .....
I think someone else brought this up but it stuck in my mind.
I see some councils want to bring in a 30 kl speed limit .That would give us .
30-40-50-70-90-100-110 and my favorite the change of speed between certain hours . And dont dare get one mixed up or else

I remember seeing an article on this in ARR i believe and according to the report they are legal in NSW but it was questionable in QLD. Personally i do not see any issue with them as they can be easily rotated to see all the information. I have mine set so the main expiration date is showing. I have been followed by many cop cars and have not been pulled over yet also no problems at RBT's either. Its is a totally crazy situation when what is acceptable in one state is not acceptable in another. How does this then work out when you travel interstate????

Re: Trivia .....
The Bandit is my first bike to have the sticker displayed! Other bikes have just kept em under the seat but I guess where you ride might make a difference. FWIW the tubes are said to be illegal in Vic too but so are tail tides and removing secondaries and a host of other mods we do.

Re: Trivia .....
Since i gave the new 750 Suzuki a negative review , i decided to have a look at the new Yamaha 800 is it . I'm looking at design and build
quality .Better , much better .Has anyone else looked at the Suzuki ?
Feel free to tell me i have it wrong ( or right ) .Maybe I'm looking at stuff that just annoys ME .Like welding .
ANy chance of someone else's thought of it ? Not just a photo though ,you have to see one in the flesh .
Come on tomorrows Saturday ,a trip to the Suzuki shop could be fun .
Actually this could start something .Someone pic a bike , any make and we review it .
First bike - New Suzuki 750.
Any takers ?

Re: Trivia .....
Hills had just sold their 750 so I never got to see it. I did however see the new TU250 which for what it is looks a great little bike. It even has EFI which is amazing as the GS500 still has a manual choke. If I was after a little cafe racer then I could be tempted by this little wonder.

Re; Trivia
If you ever need to lock a bolt and nut together without having the stress of damaging anything because the Loctite Threadlocker you used has crystalized and is now threatening to bind the thread up and tear it out. Simply use SuperGlue. It sets on threads like a plastic coating even on oily threads. The threads won't come loose and they are easy to undo when you want.
