Led Driving lights.

Post  Saikhan on Sun Dec 05, 2010 1:11 am

Put these on and went for a run tonight. I'm very happy with them. I like riding at night ( used to do a lot of night riding ), however the Bandit headlight isn't really that good.

Any night shots? Headlight only and with driving lights?

I intend doing a video either tonight or tomorrow night. At the moment the driving lights are activated by hi beam, so if hi beam is on they are on all the time. I have a high quality waterproof toggle switch so I can seperate them if need be, however I don't see the point so I left them wired into high beam. I also decided I did not want another switch to have to bother with.

I intend to move them up to where the indicators are as soon as I find a very good quality pair of mirrors with indicators in them. I think they will get sandblasted where they are situated now and the higher they are the better anyway.

How about a set of bar end indicators? http://www.oberon-performance.co.uk/acatalog/LED-Indicator-Bar-End-Weights.html
Or Rizoma make some nice mirrors with indicators http://www.rizoma.com/

They look really good. Are they as bright or brighter than the high beam? I will be doing some night riding on the Hume from Goulburn to Sydney at times. The high beam isnt too bad, the low beam is terrible. Would they go ok as an extra low beam? Where did you source them from, if you dont mind?

They look good but I'm a bit worried that the matches are a backup!!! bounce bounce

Seriously though, how did they attach? Couldn't see any brackets.

I will take some photos of the brackets and post them for you.

I will clean my shed also. Well soon. Smile

They are very easy to fit, you have to connect them to your high beam, and in QLD at least, you have to have a dedicated switch for the spotlights as well. I used positaps because I dont like hacking my existing wiring.

Where from and how much

Post  Someone on Tue Mar 01, 2011 2:05 pm

Hey just wondering where you got them from and how much they cost.

Look to be the best mod available for these bikes.

Nice. Where did you get them, and how many limbs did they cost? I have been eyeing up the LED Crees from http://www.bikevis.com/motorcycle-cree-led-running-lights.html

I used to have a light bar on my V Strrom with LED lights on that and liked the increased visible presence on the road. Anything that makes us more visible is good. It's a shame we can't use headlight modulators in Australia or NZ.

Pics Finally

Post  Someone on Sat Jul 02, 2011 12:07 pm

Here is how they look either side of the bike.

You can see its simply mounted to the side of the radiator.

Switch up on the handle bar.

Lights are actually a LED bank inside a projector style housing.
