Hi all,

I'm picking up a Silver GSX1250FA tomorrow in Sydney and am overly pleased to find this forum.

Just bought a radguard, and am considering getting the following soon:

- either Akrapovic or Yoshimura slip-on
- R&G frame slider
- heated grips
- some sort of softer seat...gel?

Anyway, look forward to "meeting" you all soon Smile

Welcome & congrats.
A nice list of mods planned. Do the seat last. Not everyone hates the stocker and some have gone back to it. Smile

There are other mufflers too lol

Haha yeah I reckon I need to look around more, I'm pretty new to this but man that carbon fibre on the muffler looks pretty awesome

And yup, will give the seat a go first!

Hello & Welcome.
I have the gel seat and it tends to slip you forward against the tank I'm finding ... might put the stock back on.

G'day all... Empty Too good!

Post  SirFA Sun 28 Nov 2010, 1:00 am

Picked up the bike today and I haven't been able to wipe the grin off my face Very Happy

Rode about 70kms, and had my wife with me for about 10kms. I love this bike, just need to get used to the weight and position.

I was sliding forward every time I went downhill, even more so my wife. Hopefully the seat will get less slippery over time. Was too lazy to remove that old rolled up newspaper next to the bike.

Welcome. Looks like the silver FA's are taking over. Probably a lot easer to keep clean though, the dark blue is an absoulte finger print magnet

Put the front seat adjusters on the "high" setting, and the rear adjusters on the "low". Then fit a Tribo seat grip for your wife.

Problem solved (well it works for me anyway).

Welcome aboard. I've done one big weekend (1,600 kms) with the stock seat and an Ozzy made lambswool cover (see photo) - I didn't feel the need to use the AirHawk which I had from a previous bike. Good insurance though.

Wow, and you were able to walk properly after that? I still need to do a big ride, but the weather is pretty shocking at the moment.
And how do lambswool covers cope in wet weather? I've no experience with them, but I'd do anything to protect my bottom! Laughing

Just met a neighbour who just bought a Bandit 1250S two weeks ago, will get him to drop in here!

Can't advise re the lambswool in the wet as it hasn't experienced any! I'm very much a dry weather rider which means I've been paying out for parking 'cause I've been taking the car a lot with all this rain (I don't pay if I use the bike).

I think it's like one of the other guys said - one solution won't suit everyone so a lambswool probably isn't a nirvana.

And yep, I was pretty buggered after 1,600 kms. My neck was the sorest part of me because I don't get much protection from the fairing being 6ft 2in.
