Old School Muscle
Just bought and picked up my new to me 2012 Bandit 1250S, and I could not be more pleased with the bandit, I have eyed these machines for quite awhile and it is definitely all that I expected it would be.
it reminds me of the old school muscle bikes that I used to ride in the 80's ( Z1R's, CB1100's and GSX1100ET), just that wonderful grunt.
Only problem was picking it up today from Albury and riding it back to Wangaratta, it hasn't rained here in two months but it sure as s@#t had to rain today, oh well it is what it is, it also helps when the bike you are riding is so well mannered and easy to ride.
Love this Bandit and can't wait to get to know her better.

Welcome to the forum Bill & Ted ( split personality ? ) I think that rain was part of Murphy's law of riding your new bike home for the first time in winter

Re: Old School Muscle
Ok, after 3 weeks of ownership I have fitted Renthal Ultra low bars, huge difference in riding position for the better for me anyway.
Had a problem with surging and exhaust popping and crackling and not just on decel, after a spirited run one night got home to find that the inside of the Yosh R77 can was glowing red and orange.
After some research and investigation ( used some hospital clamps on the hose from the air box) came to the conclusion that the PAIR system was injecting air nearly all the time, so ordered the block off kit.
The PAIR system is a real pain in the arse to remove but well worth it, the bike has been transformed no more surging and sounds way better.
I think it was a member named Gus on this site who had a similar problem and found that his PAIR valve wasn't working properly either, great site for info so thank you.

Yep @Gus is very knowledgeable. If you ever have a fuel pump problem he has the fix for that too. Good to see you have got it sorted now.

Re: Old School Muscle
Yep anything like that will upset the bike. The pair system is only there for emissions. Cleans up the top of the motor with it removed that's for sure

Re: Old School Muscle
Hi Bill & Ted, yeah "old school muscle" great descriptor of the 1250s, amazing grunt at sensible engine and road speeds; makes for a lot of fun, rolling on the throttle whenever there's a chance.
Re: Old School Muscle
