Pirelli Angel Destroyed
I bought a Pirelli Angel rear tyre for the Bandit some months ago from our local dealer who often has specials on items they want to clear. Although it was not a "GT" I thought I'd still give it a go (not recommended by the manufacturer but what the heck).
It recently completed a 5 day ride around the Victorian alpine area, so it was carrying a bit of load. Also, there was a lot of engine braking on steep and twisty sections, particularly downhill. I've done minimal riding since that trip, although I did have a good run up and down Brown Mt recently.
The damage above was likely caused by engine braking, and is leaking air, even though the tyre has done only just over 5,700 kms.
Lesson learnt. When GTs are recommended, use them!

When I put the Dunlops on I was actually going to give the Angel GTs a go, couldn't get them at the time, glad I went the Roadsmarts instead of the Angel (not GTs)
That's similar km I got on the OEM Dunlops

Yep, can't remember the exact model, stuck like shit to a blanket but by 5600 km they were worse than Ewok's. That did include a 2 up trip from Adelaide to Moranbah with bugger all corners though.
They get a mention from myself and others sin one of the tyre threads on here

That's the ones. You did well to get 6000, I limped into Brisbane on a very stuffed rear with 5800 on it, wasn't legal at 5300 IIRC2wheelsagain wrote:madmax wrote:Chook wrote:When I put the Dunlops on I was actually going to give the Angel GTs a go, couldn't get them at the time, glad I went the Roadsmarts instead of the Angel (not GTs)

WOW!
Mine has Michelin PR2's on that have done 10,000km in the past 12 months of mostly commuting and they aren't even 1/3 worn. Havent ever had a need to question their performance either so maybe go for a set of those.

My 2010 also had the dunlops .I think for some reason only known to themselves , Suzuki used Bridgestones on the GSX .
