It's been 11 years since the last oil burner left the factory and their owners still have significant input to the forum, so I reckon that interest in the 1250 has a lot more mileage in it yet pardon the pun.

Keep it listed as Bandits/GSX1250s but welcome anyone who can contribute to the richness of riding.

I like the exclusiveness of this forum, but I can see the need to expand as previous comments suggest.
Though most comments seem to be for 1250s, I know my questions about my old 1200 have always been answered in the past.

I'm pretty easy. I think all forums are finding it difficult to compete with social media and peoples need for everything "now"

I think it should still be a predominate Bandit site.
There's plenty of forums throughout the world, that can cater for individual bikes, or breeds.
I've got no qualms of having different sections,  dedicated to other bikes, that others have,  or have owned, no matter what the breed.....with in reason.
(HD belongs somewhere else in my opinion)  Hard core owner's seem to be a breed of their own, in my experience. I'll say that again. ..hard core!!!  "The best bike in the world syndrome", even though they've never ridden anything else.

I just farked it up by ticking both boxes cheers

If we need to I'll create separate sections but the attraction here is people who have an interest in or an association with Bandits/GSX or anything else that has or may have that DNA.
I'm a member of lots of forums and FB pages relating to things I don't own but have an interest in.

For what its worth every application here and on FB is screened for Bandit or bike related info prior to approval.

If we need to open the forum up as "Australian Sports Tourers" or something we'll do that but we're a long way from there at the moment.

~Happy riding~

I voted Bandit Only because it would be a shame to lose some of the "historic" content like Gus' fuel pump fix for example.

Just re social media for a second, it was questioned on another forum I'm on whether FB should take over as the medium.  Personally I find FB good for on the spot discussions, but virtually useless for archival info and corralling the topic to keep it focused.

I like the current open format, people with other bikes don't overwhelm the discussion, and there are plenty of off-subject topics that everyone can contribute to, I even heard you can put cameras on non-Bandit bikes and still take good videos of the Alpine Road  Smile

If we wanted this to become a historical site for all things similar to a bandit would we not include the GS, Katana, GSX and even early oil burner gsxr variants?

Happy for it to stay as a primarily Bandit Forum, but also happy for ex-Banditeers to stick around. Their past knowledge is still valuable

That's exactly the thing that lead me here.  I bought my 1250 last December and found this around March when I had the fuel issue.  I probably visit here once a week and have had several worthwhile experiences in buying and selling parts with forum members.

I like it how it is.  Opening it up will only dilute its "Bandit-ness"

So lets start posting Bandit stuff.

I have no desire to target any other bike on this forum but have a great desire to keep the Bandit and ex Bandit riders coming back.
Dilution will only happen if there's less Bandit content. Otherwise I'm happy to call it evolution.

I'm a member of a pajero forum. Its is primarily for pajeros but there are sub categories (forums) for most of the Mitsubishi 4wd's. Maybe that's an option

I'm with Banditdave and others.  We don't want to lose historic content.  It is really useful.

As I understand it, it is not that hard to add categories without disturbing what exists already.

I can see some merit in adding other models of Suzi.  That would't hurt, and might be helpful.
