Improving Weather = Riding
Although for most Aussies there is no real "off season" but in reality we still ride less and generally shorter distances through winter.
Now that the weather is on the improve what rides do we have planned?
For me I'm spending an extended weekend at the start of Sep with my son and a few of his mates doing a central Vic tour heading to Bendigo/Castlemaine via some interesting places followed by another Vic Alps tour in Oct with some characters who started out on here but have mostly drifted away.
Of course I'll be riding to work more and generally trying to keep out of the way of the Hwy Patrol.
So, what rides do you have planned?

Yep, the bike has really just sat in the shed for the last couple of months except to take it into town (Bega) every now and then. I'll be hampered I expect, in terms of ride planning, by the sale of the property. If it sells quickly (which I'm not really expecting), settlement might even interfere with my ability to any planned rides, which will be a bummer.

I guess living in queensland, you can ride all year round. But don't be fooled cause is queensland.
I'm currently working inland central queensland, and it still gets to -2° here, but cause it is work, that means no riding. When i finish here, I'll be going for a ride and stay at yamba nsw, and then doing a day ride around dorrigo. This will be in about 4 weeks, but when not working, every weekend is spent pounding the tarmac.

I must say it was nice to ride to work this morning without my winter pants on for the first time in about 4 months. I did still have the heated grips on a low setting though if I'm honest.

I got to say, queensland winter days are absolutely superb for riding. You can still get a bite in the morning, but it soon disappears intro glorious riding.
We just don't have the variety of roads you have down south. I want so badly to do another ride through the Alps. I've only had a bit of a taste of the Alpine roads, but I've only ridden about 5% of the roads.

Still doing the 250km commute each week to work ( rain or shine ) , but hopefully Mrs paul continues to feel ok for this coming summer & some more weekend riding can be done .

I need to get out more, haven't been out on the bike since mid May
Of course I've got the big ride planned in December, but I'll need to get some rides in before then.

Rode to the Whitfield pub with my son & his fiance last Sunday, had a Pot and a Parmi in front of the open fire, lovely.
A sunny day, if a little cold. Since then the weather has turned to shiite with no sun just wind rain and cold.
After last Sunday cannot wait for this improving weather everyone is talking about.

We've just had four days of strong, gusty winds. Abating tomorrow arvo apparently.
