Post  Chook Sun 09 Jul 2017, 2:55 pm

I just bumped into a elderly gentleman (early-mid 70's) at my local servo, I noticed his DR650 was parked up in a safe spot with a big puddle of oil under it, he said it's pissing out the gearbox seal. Turns out he's from Mannum, about 100km away and was heading down to visit a relative.

He pulled in for fuel and noticed the oil, he said it had sounded a bit more rattly than normal, he added a litre, nothing still visible in the sight glass, added another litre and it was just below the low mark, couldn't have been much left Shocked

Turns out he also owns a 2006 Bandit, as he proudly stated, the last of the oil cooled!!

I thought I might have a new recruit for the forum, I asked he does he have access to the internet, his reply, "I've never seen a computer turned on"

He's waiting for his wife to drive the 1 1/2 hours into town so he can drive back, pick up his trailer with his car and collect the bike, what a headf***!!

He started it at the bowser, dumped about 1/2 litre in less than a minute, he wasn't going anywhere unless he was willing to destroy a engine/gearbox

I had that problem with a Triumph Thunderbird in the late 60's.

Never had a problem with chain lube but the back tyre was always a little uncertain with the additional lubricant. Crying or Very sad
